BoxOffice a huge hit for MultiChoice

I found BoxOffice to be a very useful service – you can sit and watch a movie at home, two months after it has been at the cinemas, without having to drive the whole way to the cinema, look for a parking and drive back. You do sometimes miss the going out aspect, and it is always important to take children out, but nothing beats being able to start watching a movie that you like as a last minute decision and not have to see what time the show is, and what time it ends. It has been such a hit for MultiChoice that apparently their financial statements indicate that in recent months the number of movies downloaded is exceeding 400 000 a month. At R25,00 a movie that is an extra R10 million a month in gross income, and it is only going to increase.

I am a movie-addict and BoxOffice is simply awesome - and you get to keep it for two days should you want to watch it again - it can get costly if you're a movieholic like I am though

My sister love BoxOffice and I really think it is convenient and very useful on top of that it is cheaper than renting a movie at the video store. I think the last time I checked renting a movie at the video store was R32.00 and this was about a year ago. The only thing irritating about BoxOffice is that has a time limit on the movies.

I absolutely love BoxOffice, it is such an amazing invention! It tends to encourage being lazy but like everything... In moderation. My younger sister as an example has hired the same movie 5 times on BoxOffice.

Nothing better then renting a movie on box office in the middle of winter with popcorn a cup of coco in front of the fireplace, and best part is you don't have the worries the next morning to take the movie back in time before getting a penalty.

I love the Box office. I always forget to return the movies I rent and then end up paying double for them. Now I can rent them for less than the dvd store, keep it for two days longer and dont have to remember to take them back. It saves time, effort and petrol.

I also enjoy going to the movies once in a while but like Brumilde said to pay R60 for a cold drink and popcorn and then still have to buy a movie ticket is ridiculous.

BoxOffice is a definite yes!

Brumilde  said:

I agree, i would rather be in my own home and comfortable, and now have to pay for coke and popcorn like R60.00.

I absolutely love box office for lazy days and I am not sure why I waited until 2 weeks ago to use it. You don't even have to go to the DVD store or get out of bed!! I was bored and clicked the green button. I ended up falling asleep but its valid for 48 hours and I could watch it the next day again. I must say however I still prefer going out so they shouldn't get rid of the cinema's just yet - date nights !

As much as I love going to the movies, I feel like it can be such a mission.

I love what box office offers a person from the comfort of their own home at a affordable price.

I would rather want to watch the box office movies and even wait for movies to show on channels than pay to go to the cinema's. The cinema's are a rip off and the snacks are even more ridiculous. I would rather take my children to a whole day event and get my money's worth.

It is very convenient to watch a movie at home, without having to go out. Especially when the whether outside is miserable, cold and rainy. the best part is to make popcorn and snacks just the way you like it...

I have to agree with Lucretia, some movies you just have to go watch at the cinemas plus the popcorn and the sweets = amazing! Now that it is winter box office must be awesome though.

Yes, I think that's a very good service by Mulichoice are given the public. You sometimes miss the aspect of going out but to sit at home relaxed comfortable and watching a movie is 100 persent better and only pay R25.00. That's a bargain!!!

I do not even have DStv. Uncapped internet and unlimited downloads is way better than box officce. You have a wider variety to choose from

I LOVE BoxOffice! It is awesome to be able to watch some of the most recent releases on your couch under a warm blanket in your PJs on a Sunday morning. It is also so convenient because when you can't find anything to watch on TV, you can choose a movie. Best idea / invention for YV ever!

I am not one for downloading movies to my home. I still love going to the movies, love the surround sound, the BIG screen, the 1.5 - 3 hours that your mind is totally engulfed in the movie, no cell phone, no outside world. There are some movies that simply cannot be watched on anything other than "the big screen".
