The Open is one of the four golf Majors and it begins today at Royal Lytham and St Annes in Blackpool, which is on the wets cost of England not far from Liverpool. I will bore everybody if I again back Tiger Woods, but I do think he will feature well. He is the in form player of the last few months even if he is still not back to his best.
Majors ultimately get down to the mental approach which means the vast majority of the field will simply eliminate themselves under the pressure. The tournament will be won by someone who has won recently as like many things, winning is a habit in golf and somebody who does not have that habit and is not able to deal with being in the lead, is unlikely to win.

I sincerely hope Woods performs well. Most people may disagree with his past indecencies, but no-one can disagree that he is an utterly amazing golfer.

I am not a golfer but it will be interesting to see how Tiger Woods is going to do in this one.

Interesting links course. I especially like the par 3 opener - different from the usual Open courses. Tiger looks so dangerous hitting that low stinger long iron. Hope the SA boys go well too. Enjoy Michael.

Tiger Woods has won three tournaments in a seven-event span this year. I'm sure he'll win this one too.

The big question is whether the top English golfers like Westwood and Donald will live up to their high rankings in their own backyard. I am picking an American winner and given Tiger's great form of late, I think he may just do it and take his career earnings past 100 million dollars. Go Tiger!!!! Then at least everyone still knows who the real number one is.

The player who wins will start with a firm belief that he will win. You need that faith in yourself to battle through adversity. 8 million US dollars if I'm right? You have to be very stable not to have that influence you.

I am glad to see Tiger Woods or Eldrick as he is known at home, back in form. He is truly a great player and his style is always enjoyable to watch. He is top of my list - go get em Tiger!
