Julius Malema and the charges

Julius Malema has laughed off the criminal charges he faces, saying that they are political. There is no doubt that the timing is poor, and from that point of view it does give him ammunition to argue that it is a political decision.

However, these are charges that could and should have been brought a long time ago. After all, we have a man whose salary on the ANC Youth League was R20 000,00 a month and who we know bought a house for over R3 million, knocked it down and was busy building a R10 million house. You cannot do that on R20 000,00 a month because the bank alone is going to require proof, before bonding that amount, of a salary of approximately R300 000,00 a month. In short, we all know that there is something terribly wrong when it comes to his finances, so it is a tremendous pity that he was not singled out for attention in that regard a long time ago, and that it has taken until now for that action to be taken. I personally would be very surprised if he walks away being found innocent of all charges, and of course he still has huge tax bills from SARS to foot as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is found innocent as he always gets away with everything. Not to mention his not the only one as Zuma is now facing questions of 200million rand that he has used.

When it comes to Julius Malema, it is best I keep my comments to myself because that man makes me see RED at the sight of his name. He is a "sht stirrer" of note and loves to insight violence.

The funny thing is that Zuma is doing up grades on his house for more millions than Malema but he is not getting investigated how does that work? Malema is a negative person he has lots of followers that he can influence in a good way but he chooses not to.

We send our kids to varsity and end up with educated idiots - Mr Malema is an uneducated idiot - as are most of his followers - the sad part is, they are our future. It is them that will be building our roads, bridges, office buildings, become CEO's, oversee Telkom, Eskom, co-ordinating systems to supply us with even worse contaminated drinking water..... All will change soon - maybe sooner than we think.

i don;t understand why it took so long for this to be investigated. Clearly red flags should have gone up a long time ago

I agree with all the comments. This man, no wait, he cannot be referred to as a man... This lunatic has to be taken to jail. He is corrupting our youth, making them believe everything he wants them to believe, and this is causing more troubles in South Africa. He supports the wrong things, and they follow suit.

Why something was done earlier, only they will know. I think that once he is served with justice, things will go better.

I honestly cant believe that this man is still given the freedom to carry on the way he is. I say put him in a Strait Jacket, duct tape his mouth shut and lock him up!

He is seriously creating such havoc and something drastic really needs to be done now!!!! Enough is Enough!!!!!

I was shocked to hear he handed himself over. I sure as hell hope justice gets served and he doesnt get away with it - but what are the chances of that. He should be in trouble for laughing off these charges! Its ridiculous that he can still smile about it! Can someone finally wipe that ridiculous smile off his face!

This man is so annoying. I absolutely agree with all the comments placed. He is a complete idiot that should be put in jail for the rest of his life.

Malema can be laughing at the charges now but the truth is that he will be going down.He had humiliated the President so many times and nothing was done about it.I think justice must take its course now and let see if he will be laughing whilst standing in the dock.

He wasn't prosecuted earlier because his Kill the Boer song served the government well. Now that the loose canon has redirected his target at Zuma, he is no longer convenient for the government and so like all the other delayed actions in South Africa, they have now decided to take action. I heard Westville Prison is taking in some new occupants this morning, maybe he should join the queue and save us all the mind-numbing boredom and listening to his rubbish - so over it

This is a man that said "I will rather kill myself before I commit suicide", so his conduct and intellectual deficiency does not come as a surprise. He can dress these charges up with whatever he wants, the facts remain that he cannot legally account for all that exta "income". I really can't stomach these wolves in sheep clothing. I hope justice prevails

Absolute nonsense, if anybody reckons he earned that much then they are idiots. A political 'leader'. Though it is weird at how they can earn so much while there are people starving all around them, instead they would put the blame on others and try and cause a war which does not need to be had. This is a beautiful country, however all this nonsense just makes you want leave

People like him they think they can get away with everything, but again if he knows something or any scandal with top people he can get away with all his charges.
