Rent a Porsche

In America one of the businesses taking off, in the car rental section, is the renting or more luxury motor vehicles. Most car hire companies only have the baseline models and sometimes one or two family sedans, but now the business of renting more fancy cars is taking off.

One businessman explained that when he is going to a meeting, he likes to feel confident and get out of a new car and so he will prefer for example to rent a luxury Mercedes sedan and go to the meeting in that, than a cheap car. What is interesting is that the average rental, for example for the Porsche Panamera is $340 a day but Mercedes going at approximately $200 a day and you can rent an Audi A4 for $75 a day during the week and it is cheaper than on weekends. Apparently, the Range Rover Sport is also a very popular car and if you really want to spend money you can rent the Bentley DTC at $800 a day.

When you have money you’ll love to be presentable by the look and style

If you have the money, why not? But then again, if you have the money, buy your own.

People can be so status orientated.... A car is a car, and if i had a choice of paying say R200 a day for a little Chevy Spark or R1000 a day for a Mercedez i would definitely choose the former. There are more important things in life than being seen in a fancy car!

You will find that most people dont notice and sometimes also dont even care what car you drive!

Call me opinionated but this is just silly. If you have a good product, are a good sales person you should have enough confidence. And why fool people in thinking you "own" this car because this is what they will think. Nee man, I think it's silly. But hey, there are a couple of yappies out there. I repeat - confidence is something that radiates from your persona - it has nothing to do with the car you drive, where you live or what your house looks like. Face it - how many people KNOW these things? Pride is a bastard and it's gonna bite you in the butt sooner or later

I will only do it for a very special occasion not for a meeting because I think that is just a waste of money that you could’ve spent on something else

Hmmm... Interesting idea. I don't do well with pretentious people but it sounds cool for weddings or those once in a lifetime experiences

Perhaps it will help businessmen seal the deal to pretend his actually rich - what about when he has to keep up with that appearance? Next time someone see's him isnt in his expensive car but rather a cheaper car lol. Nonetheless interesting idea but its a waste of money if you ask me. Maybe a good idea for things such as weddings, matric dances etc but for a meeting just to impress waste of money!

I have personal knowledge of a South African company which owns and rents out a Maserati, Ferrari and Aston Martin. I've had the opportunity to drive the cars, but, certainly cannot afford to rent and would rather own than rent.

WOW! that is such a cool idea, it would be ideal to use for certain occasions where youd like to use a smart looking car. Thumbs up!

It's all nice to drive a fancy car for a meeting or whatever the case might be but after the meeting what then the people will start saying you do not earn so much money to own the car I would also love driving the Range Rover my favourite car. Just more ways to make money.

If I had the money I would definitely rent expensive cars on holidays, etc. Would love to drive a luxury cars like these, but would probably run out of holiday money too soon hehe :)

That is a lot of extra money the business must spend for a business meeting. Maybe it does make you feel better driving a Porsche instead of a standard car.Like Alexis said everybody to their own.

Most companies like to play it safe, but this is a good idea. Nobody wants to just drive around in a standard car when there is an opportunity to drive around in better. Although i do not think that regardless of being a business man etc will it make a difference in what car you drive but hey, evrybody to their own
