Advertising and word-of-mouth

Many people take note of our advertising, but few would know that statistically almost 25% of the referrals to De Broglio Inc come from existing clients referring their friends. The best advertising you can do is to keep your clients happy, to make sure that you charge reasonable fees and to get great results for your clients. All the advertising in the world does not help unless you can back it up with excellent service and results and that is why I am always happy to know that such a large percentage of our work comes from existing clients. It is not exactly a field where everybody knows somebody who has been seriously injured in an accident or in a case of medical negligence, but I am very happy that when they do they think of us and call De Broglio Inc. Incidentally, we have a toll free number which you can call by dialling 0800ACCIDENT and of course, there is so much more to read, including many of our case studies and cases that we have handled for clients on www.accidentclaim.co.za or for personal injury matters, including medical negligence matters on www.personalinjury.co.za .

Word of mouth can be the most powerful form of advertising but, at the same time can break a business. That is why, it is always important to speak to your customers with a positive attitude and a smile in your voice. There is nothing nicer than speaking to someone who shows they care, it makes me go out of my way to want to give them what they require. If you can win your clients over on the phone, 50% of what you need to do is a given already.

So true. Most of the new clients I sign up has been referred by a friends of theirs who used to be one of our clients. Even when they phone in they start off by saying that their friend told them about us.

Word of mouth could be a positive or negative thing. Always boils down to your own experience though

Word of mouth is can make a business or break a business. People trend to talk about their bad or good experiences they had with a company.

Word of mouth is most powerful advertising tool! Anyone would rather believe someone else's experience with a company - I for one always ask "Has anyone gone here or has anyone tried this company", especially with chosing insurances - I did my homework and heard stories from real people then made a decision. You can have the best advertisements on tv, radio, billboards, 300 times a day but if clients are not happy and have spoken about it to other people - YOUR potential clients then you can forget about it. It becomes a waste of your advertising money!

I have always thought that word of mouth is the best way of advertising. If someone is happy with the service that is being delivered they will talk about it.

I believe that word of mouth advertising; whilst more efficient as most people are simply to lazy to google; is largely peoples' opinions based on their experience with the company. Thus it; as with normal advertising and all forms of research should be taken with circumspection and you are to make a decision based on all references researched or suffer the consequences of not doing so; or listening to i.e. what your friend thinks is a good company.

100% agree with the marketing concept - "we work hard to make sure the clients we love are extremely happy with our work and our results". Happy client will always bring friends and family - I will say this can be the best advertising for any company in any field.

Especially new entrepreneurs depend a lot on word of mouth advertising - your "product" and service has to be good though. I definitely agree that word of mouth is the way to go. I too ask for referrals before approaching a company/doctor or other service provider.

I agree with Juliet, Hello Peter is a great source to check on companies. But of course, word of mouth will give you lots of info. It is particularly important when you choose a doctor.girls always tend to ask friends before venturing to an appointment to a gynaecologist or a plastic surgeon.

When it comes to making decisions people tend to ask a friend or someone’s opinion that they trust before seeking help in any field. If the person whose opinion they sought had received good services they will automatically refer them to that particular firm. Therefore it is every important for the firm that advertise to live up to the expectation of the promises they make. Word of mouth advertising can make or break the reputation of a firm

Word of Mouth and websites like Hello Peter are the most reliable references for a service provider or product. I often look on the net before I buy something or even before booking a holiday and then look at Trip Advisor.

Alexis  said:

That is very true - I know for a fact that I would rather ask the advise of others first before making my decision and if I get bad feedback regarding a company - I will not do business with them at all
