I am sad to see that MultiChoice is ending Bloomberg television, which used to be on DSTV 411 at the same time as they end the MK music channel (DSTV 324). Apparently parts of Bloomberg television will be featured on Summit TV, which is now being renamed Business Day TV.
Bloomberg was by far the best of the business channels, far exceeding the weaker content, especially during the locally sourced content, on CNBC. DSTV strangely enough has only discontinued Bloomberg for South Africa but it will remain available throughout their offerings to the rest of Africa. Apparently, Charlie Rose’s talk show will still be shown within the programming blocks on Business Day TV, but those are pretty late now, including 11 pm to 3 am and 7 am to 12 pm when it is much harder for most people to watch.

Wow... Only SA hey? That's quite strange, maybe there will be something similar somewhere down the pipeline? Poor MK, I don't think many people will miss it because nobody really watches music channels anymore. I stand to be corrected though

Its sad for those who watched it and it is very frustrating when something you enjoy watching gets cancelled. I guess the amount of viewers in SA just wasn't enough to justify keeping the channel.

It's very strange that DSTV discontinued Bloomberg in South Africa and not the whole of Africa? What's wrong in South Africa - Is the percentage viewers to little in South Africa?

That's really strange that its being discontinued only in SA , I do know how annoying it can be when programs are discontinued that a person enjoys the content of that show.

not a compliment to SA people , a country of "no thinkers"?Bloomberg has lovely programs to watch for everybody and that is a shock to me they have cancelled it!

There are many news channels and perhaps it wont change too much besides the time slots - those with PVR can record the show.

I do not have DSTV so it wouldn't have an affect on my life

Perhaps not enough South Africans understood the contents of the show so the ratings were so low that it was no longer viable to air it. Will probably be replaced with a cultural show - they're a hit in S.A.....

I don't have DSTV so cannot comment on his show but know how frustrating and disappointing it is when you follow something religiously because you enjoy the insight you get from it just to find out you will not be able to follow the programme anymore.
