Eating more fruit

Some of those who watch diets carefully avoid some fruits saying they have too much sugar in them. Recent research, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, however indicates that fruit, while it has sugar in it, can be eaten as much as you like. They say that fruit has no adverse health effects and that the sugar in fruit is absorbed more slowly as a result of the fruit’s fibre. There is thus not any surge in blood sugar and of course fruit helps us from overeating by making us feel fuller.

The one caution that they did raise is that you lose some of the benefits of the fruit when you turn it into juice. They say some of the metabolic benefits of the fibre are lost when the fruit is pulverised and the physical structure changes. Of course, there is also the important advantage that when you eat, you eat more slowly than simply drinking down a whole glass of juice, and so they do favour, where possible, that you rather eat the fruit than juice it.

Lol@ Simone. You guys all work hard to keep Michael healthy. Healthy boss = happy office.
and if you are ever cross with the boss, you can manipulate the juice: put some garlic and ginger into the juice, he wont like it.

Maybe you should start eating all the fruits and veggies we put in your juice instead of us juicing it and losing some of those benefits. Could turn out to be much healthier.

I love all sorts of different fruits and always encourage my kids to eat fruits. Fruits strengthen our immunity towards diseases - keeps cancer, heart attack and other coronary diseases away. Vitamin C in these fruits keeps our blood pressure in check. Antioxidants in cherries, raspberries and blueberries fight free radicals and repair the damaged cells in our bodies. Like apple can reinforce the body resistance and destroy harmful bacteria that may have entered your body. Why fruits are good for health are that they are very low in calories and are beneficial for those who want to lose weight. One can always substitute fruits for any regular food they eat and as fruits consist mostly of water, they can make the stomach full and curb down the craving for more foods. Moreover, they are free of bad-cholesterol, so you are eating healthy all the time. As fruits contain natural sugars, our energy level gets boosted thus making us more active. Besides fruits are also known to be good for the skin and keep us looking younger and more attractive.

The popular diet programmes like Weigh Less and Weigh Watchers all allow you to eat as much fruit as you like whilst the rest of your meals are extremely limited. I enjoy eating fruit but I mostly stick to banana's and do not often venture away to other fruits. I have been waiting for a food that is limitless - here it is..... Fruit....
