High blood glucose leads to dementia

For many years scientists have not understood why people with diabetes have an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. An observational study in Washington has indicated, even amongst people who don’t have diabetes, that a higher blood glucose level can be associated with the greater risk of dementia.

The researchers tested both the fasting and non-fasting glucose measurements of the test group and they looked at other factors, which obviously increase the risk of dementia, such as high blood pressure and smoking. Doctors say that it is too early to warn people to change their diet as a result but that people should certainly stick to the basics – exercise regularly, maintain a normal weight and these in themselves should assist with reducing the damage done to the brain by high blood sugar, even if they don’t know now how exactly high blood sugar levels are damaging the brain.

consuming too much sugar( any form of glucose, fructose or lactose etc) also accelerates skin aging, the more sugar you eat, the more wrinkles you get. Plus you will get cellulite as a bonus . Viva to a very bitter cup of coffee !

I really can't see myself giving up any sugar especially in my coffee no way. I am not a sweet person but when I get in the mood for sweets I go buy them. A person only lives once and by the looks of it most of the thing you do and eat can be harmful, but what is the point if you can enjoy your life?

Sugar is the devil! I don't even know why sugar cane is grown. It should be banned. I'm still waiting for the day that advertizing Coca-Cola is banned, I mean it is as harmful as smoking and advertizing smoking is banned so it makes sense

Changing your diet requires a lot of determination despite all the risks to peoples health and some people may not even be aware that their diets are incorrect or that they are at risk to diseases such as Alzheimers disease
