Working on that weight

I found over the years that just as it starts getting warmer, and one should be exercising more, that invariably I’ve done more damage to my weight. For some reason I managed to stabilise my weight in the coldest months, and as it starts warming up again, that is when I put on a few extra kilograms.

My biggest weight loss month over the years has always been January, and that is probably true of most people, probably followed closely by December and February. The key for me now is to increase the exercise now, even though we don’t have longer days, which makes it harder for walks, rides and runs and to watch very carefully what I eat.

There are no easy ways to lose weight and while diets do help, the simple truth that many people want to ignore is that it is really a combination of exercise, and I would certainly include walking as exercise, and eating much, much less. Most people eat way more than they need to and while some things are easy to give up, like the soft drinks and sugar, and those do make an immediate difference, the truth of the matter is that we are almost all accustomed to overeating and it takes a lot of effort and it is extremely difficult to cut down one’s eating and to turn away from the carbohydrates towards the proteins.

I tend to agree with Safia, running is the best way to loose weight, its also really good for the mind, as for some reason your mind always feels cleared after a good run.

Nothing makes you lose weight better than running. The more you run ,the better you look, that is that simple. It costs 0 rand to run, you can run up and down the stairs , you can run on the road ,you can even run barefoot. The trick is to run uphill, that will work your muscles and build up a nice bum and legs .also skipping is great Skippings is also cheap but it melts the fat away. Both can be done quickly, 20 min a day, before work is best.

I think you can eat whatever you want as long as its in moderation and as long as you dont over endulge not every body has hours to spend working out either

Its always difficult this time of year to loose all the weight you gained during winter, to get into a routine to start exercise and eat right. Its a mind over matter thing, if you have a strong will and keep to a plan it wont be an issue.

I always tend to be so motivated the first month back at gym and then I start getting bored and lazy. If only I had a gym at home perhaps then I would exercise more. Need to learn to stop procrastinating so that I can exercise consistenly, eat less and stop smoking!

In life everything has to be done in moderation. One has to strike a balance between what one eats and exercise. Personally i have realised that sugar intake does a whole lot of bad things to my body than good. Soft drinks are not really part diet.

The best weight loss advice I even got was to eat a little bit less and move a little bit more.

Well lucky my friend introduced me to herbalife, which I now take and use, I don't have time to go excercise as I work all day, go home attend to my son and my home so that for me is enough excercise for me. I won't lie I am also terrible with diets but hey every person I met this weekend at the conference are too bad with food yet because the product gives your body all the vitamines and protein you need you still shed the weight. I met a mother of 6 that looks like she hasn't even gained a pound. So here's to hoping oh and it does give you energy too so SCORE!

Healthy eating and exercise is the way to go. It is easier said than done though. I was successful once and I hope I can get back to that.

If it wasn't for my fast metabolism, I don't know what I would do. I hate exercising, but now that summer is basically here I need to get a move on. Looking at people on diets, I can see that it is really tough and I take my hat off to anyone who gets through it and has an amazing end result.

Your mind is a very powerful tool when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight. Exercise is very important and of course a stable eating pattern. It is very easy to indulge on good food, but if you are strong willed, you will be able to maintain a good eating pattern as well as a good exercise program and you will have no problems in keeping yourself fit and healthy, no matter what the season.

I agree that you need to do both, eat right and exercise. Although this is always easier said than done

It is also about adding additional items to your diet that promote weight loss or that stabilize your cravings, things such as apple cider vinegar, for example. But I agree that nothing nothing nothing changes your body and makes you look and feel better than exercise. I am doing my treadmill every evening now in a last minute attempt to shed my extra weight before the holidays!!

Weight loss is not my main concern, but feeling energetic and healthy that comes with eating healthy food and exercise is a personal goal. A healthy body certainly does go along with a healthy mind. Now that its summer no excuses to wake up earlier and get the day started with exercise and from experience all those feel good hormones and energy build up leads to productivity during the day .

Weight loss is amoungst the hardest things to do. It takes great self control and self motivation. No matter how great the success rate of a diet may be, if you are not completely commited and have your mind set to your goal, you have very little chances of reaching your goal weight.

It's not always food that makes you fat I have a sister in law that will fast the whole month and eat very litte and not loose any weight but she should exercise a lot to help her loose wieght.
