There is major building works going on at the intersection of Republic Street and Bram Fischer Street, where DSTV are building new offices across the road. It seems that DSTV and MultiChoice own half of Randburg already, and it is somewhat of a surprise that they have not moved their offices, many years ago, to another area where perhaps they could have built a bigger campus. On the other hand, one guesses that the technology and equipment that has been built in that area would make it incredibly expensive for them ever to move.
You know it is a major building project when you see that it is being built by a company like Group Five, because companies like that don’t do “small” R20 million projects. I see a big hike ahead in the monthly subscription though! With unlimited Internet streaming, as well as the ability to very cheaply hire a DNS which indicates that you are surfing the Internet from another country, they will increasingly however be in competition with Apple TV as well as Netflix, because although those are overseas services, one can in fact obtain them in South Africa by establishing an overseas account and using a DNS service.

DSTV is so expensive and they just show the same movies over and over. Luckily there are channels like Discovery that shows interesting documentaries.

Dstv is very Pricey and a hike will definitely take place now for their new building. I decided to try Toptv and what a bad decision that was. Much worse than dstv, they repeat the same B-Rated most annoying movies ever over and over again for about two months solid. So best the best thing for me to do is to download series and movies.

DSTV is so expensive and there is only a few things to watch, I agree with Sarah and Sorea I prefer downloading series. It's cheaper to just have uncapped internet

It seems like everyone agrees that even though you have DSTV, there is hardly anything to watch on tv.

I agree with Sorea ,there is not really anything to watch on tv and the movies and series are constantly showing re-runs and there are way to many channels and DSTV is constantly introducing new channels but always show the same shows

There is never anything great to watch on DSTV, well everytime I watch anyway! They play the same movies over and over - I always hear people complaining about that! So are more people really going to subscribe? If they have another building across the road, as a customer are they going to send you from one side to the other?

They are constantly building there. At one point for the 2010 World cup, they had built something there for that specifically and as soon as that was done, decided to build something else. They have been there since i can remember and do not think it likely that they will move anytime soon.

I will rather stream a series straight off the net and not have to contend with the good old fashioned "there is nothing to watch on tv" even though you have more channels than is strictly necessary.
