The nominees for the Oscars are out, and the movies that dominated the nominations, with the most nominations, are American Hustler and Gravity. The movie that is already the favourite in the early betting markets and quite strongly to win the Oscar for the Best Picture is however 12 Years Slave. The favourite to win Best Director is Alfonso Cuaron who directed Gravity and for Best Actress it is currently, and she is a very short favourite meaning they think it is guaranteed that she is going to win, Kate Blanchett.
The one I would really like to see is American Hustler which is on a similar topic to The Wolf of Wall Street, but is rated far better than The Wolf of Wall Street. It is seldom that people, who have to pay out on the results such as bookmakers get it drastically wrong, particularly when there is a hot favourite, and whether the principle is that of the wisdom of crowds, or research as to how certain people are going to vote, the favourites on the betting sites go on to win the awards year after year.

By the time i am done with the list of movies i need to watch, i will be lost to society when i actually get round to watching them as i will be glued to the television for quite some time. I think its best to leave the movie watching to those who really enjoy watching movies and i will continue with the more active spontaneous part of life. The Oscars will unfortunately mean nothing to me, especially since i probably wont recognize any movie that receives a nomination.

I thoroughly enjoyed Wolf of Wall Street and feel that Leonardo Dicaprio deserves an oscar for his role. I downloaded America Hustler but I fell asleep as Wolf of Wall Street was extremely long. Cant wait to watch it. There really have been some fantastic movies coming out! Competition should be stiff

I haven't had time to watch movies in a time now, well it's more like not in the mood but I have read some good reviews about gravity and maybe I'll make some time to watch it, Sandra Bullock is one of my fav.

I have not seen American Hustler however Gravity was a fantastic movie and I am glad to see that it also received a nomination. Cate is not one of my favourite but it is always nice to see new nominees!

I saw Gravity a few months ago, I thought the concept was really exciting, but I felt as if the movie was not scientifically accurate in many regards. But I suppose all movies you have to suspend your disbelief to some degree. Wolf on Wallstreet was so funny!
I will have to add American Hustler and 12 years slave to my list of movies to watch!

Glad to have read your comment Kaylee, I am going to see Wolf of Wall Street. Again, you get actors and you get Actors and I have yet to see a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio that has been lousy.

I haven't seen American Hustler, but Wolf of Wall Street, blew my mind, what an incredible movie, 3 hours felt like 10 minutes! I think Margot Robbie is one to watch for some nominees in the future as well. I will definitely watch American Hustler. Can't wait!
