The interest in this trial is so large that DSTV has now announced a special 24 hour channel that will dedicated to the trial. It is going to be on channel 199 and it is called The Oscar Pistorius Trial: A Carte Blanche Channel. It is apparently going to be produced and put together by the producers of Carte Blanche and one assumes that they hope that most of the coverage will be live coverage of the trial. The trial begins on 3 March but obviously the Judge still has to make a decision as to whether or not it can be covered on television. The new channel will of course place some pressure on them to allow that coverage!

Today is exactly a year like this tragedy happened. With this trial Oscar Pistorius become more famous all over the world then he was before being very strong sportsman, I think I will follow up as well on the updates.

I really don't thing it is necessary for whole channel about his trial. I know people are really interested in what will happen at the trial but thy don't think how it will affect Reeva steenkamp family. It will be interesting to watch.

To see the final verdict interests me, but not the whole hype around the fact the he is a celebrity figure. Murder cases happen all the time, and I don't see any TV channels for those. Yes the outcome will be well anticipated.

This is going to be a trial to follow be it via DSTV or in the papers. A while ago, he was voted one of the "Role Models" young men should follow before turning to crime - how ironic.

I usually don't really care about celebrities and their personal affairs but this whole Pistorius debacle has my full attention, I'm hooked. It's not at all about the sensation I want to see how it unfolds, it's going to be interesting. Pistorius is about to face the biggest battle of his life, guilty or not.

I would be interested in watching that channel!! Like Anna says its our own OJ Simpson.Most people will be paying close attention to that channel! I just hope the truth comes out... At the end of the day there is a family who lost someone close to them and they deserve for justice to be served! Its that time again where all eyes will be on South Africa.... this trial could be a game changer.

I certainly hope that the trial is televised. I'm looking forward to seeing how well prepared both sides are and how the Judge will be running the trial. It's our own OJ Simpson trial and I hope that justice will prevail more so in Oscar's trial than it did in OJ's trial.
