I would be interested to hear about the most useful app on your phone, and which apps you feel that you cannot live without. I generally look at the Bloomberg app to see the latest currency rates, and I use the application for my step counter band quite often as well. I thought of this the other day when I got a quote that for R399,00 per month I could have an application on my phone which allowed me to do dictation and send dictation directly from my phone to secretaries.
I immediately went and searched on the Internet and the application that the salesperson quoted my staff member on is in fact available for free on the Internet, although he did try to toss in a lot of hardware that we don’t need either. Allegedly the version you pay for allows you to use the clouds and record in a smaller format but at R399 a month it’s not worth it. One of their competitors, Olympus, whose dictaphones I have, also have a free dictating app and so that is one more nice application to add to my phone because you never know when you may need to dictate something most urgently on your phone, and send it through to a typist on an urgent basis. I have probably made the mistake of looking into all the apps that I needed a long time ago, and have not really looked since then, which is why I have never thought of such an application in the first place, until an advocate friend of mine recommended the R399,00 a month guy to me. Have you come across something that somebody tried to sell to you that you could obtain for free? What are your favourite applications?

Apps are awesome! My favourite apps at the moment are instagram, facebook (yes I still go on facebook!), skype, Dictionary.com, VSCO cam, photo editing apps and my ultimate addiction - candy crush!! I think I have more social networks than anything else.

I Love Instagram I think it is so much better than Facebook. Shazam is also one of my favourites. The Flashlight app is very useful- about 2 weeks ago the power went off at court and it was pitch dark (and SCARY) in the basement, I was really grateful I had my flashlight app! I wont buy any apps, there are lots of free ones to choose from.

The most important app on my phone is whatsapp. I also love the photo editing/collage apps as well as pinterest. I love looking for new photography ideas and other interesting things on there. The Standard Bank mobile banking app is also a great one. No one has ever tried to sell me an app, however- if they did i would not buy it but simple find a similar app on the net that was free.

There are so many apps to use now days, weather apps to know what to expect the next day, Map apps to find a faster route to use every day. I would say its not about a favourite app to use but about the most convenient app at that time.

Wunderlist is quite nice in terms of organisation. Other than that I don't have anything than has not already been mentioned.

I also love Pinterest for ideas for decorating my house and just general fashion ideas. My favourite has to be soundcloud. The Skype app is not to bad either. The Nike app is great to measure how far u run and how many calories you burn and it also keeps track of your progress! Love apps!

Price check sounds very useful. I think I may download that one.
Currently the most used apps on my current phone:
Pinterest, Maps, Weather SA, Whatsapp
Before my Ipad decided to bid a sad farewell to me, there were some great apps that I loved:
- Paper - It was the apple app of the year in 2012. Its an app that you can doodle, sketch and take notes which is great for brainstorming. It's been said to be a sort of digital moleskin.
- Ted - An app which allows you to watch Ted Talks
- Instagram
- Eurosports to keep up with sports news

The most useful app on my phone is without a doubt Price-check. It is also probably the most used app on my phone and it is always reliable and helps me save money on items by showing where the item can be bought at the best and lowest price offered. It is a great app and a bonus that it saves you money!!
