The news about Robin Williams was tragic. I don’t think he got the roles he deserved in recent times, after in fairly ordinary movies, for his exceptional talent. Above all to me he was a comedian and I have DVD’s of stand up performances by him such as “A night at the Met”. You won’t truly appreciate his abilities and talent if you have only seen the movies on which he starred – I honestly believe his talent for comedy far exceeds his acting roles. Amongst movies the closest he came to ad lobbing comedy genius would, in my opinion, be Good Morning, Vietnam.
True comedic talent and wit like he had is for the exceptional few and it is uncanny how so many of those blessed with such exceptional intelligence are unbalanced emotionally. There seems to be a fine line between genius and insanity. Robin Williams was a comedic genius and a huge loss.

Robin Williams was an excellent actor and his death is a huge loss to the entertainment industry-he just had a way of drawing people into his role and it was easier to empathise with the character he was playing-whether it be the comedies or drama. My favourite Robin Williams movies were Good Will Hunting; Dead Poet's Society and Mrs Douubtfire.
I once read a novel about an extremely intelligent girl who always felt like an outcast because she could not find anybody that she could relate to or that could relate to her on her level. I think that this is true for most true geniuses-the world is a lonely place for them because there are very few, if any, people in their circle of friends; family; colleagues or acquaintances that they can connect with on their level.

Robin Williams was a Great Actor and he has played in so many wonderful movies that reminds us of our childhood, he has been their since I can remember ... We sometimes wonder what drives a person that is so successful and well known to his limits... This was very sad to hear and I would say so unexpected... Its an even sadder loss for his family and he will not be easily forgotten...

I was very saddened by the news of his death. He was a childhood favourite. I think I watched every movie he was ever in. My children also enjoyed watching the movies I watched as a child. It really surprises me that the Actors that make you laugh the most are the same one's who suffer with Depression. Apparently Jim Carrey also suffers with Depression. Very upsetting that he chose this route as well.

Quite sad indeed - just shows anyone can suffer from depression. He wasn't my favourite actor but I was quite shocked at how hateful people were towards his daughter on twitter!

It just goes to show that even the rich and famous those that have it all are not immune to depression. The only positive thing coming out of his heart-breaking suicide is that it has sparked conversation to shed light on depression and the fact that it is a genuine debilitating condition!

Very sad news for me too, even when my child heard this news yesterday she asked me if ever see movies with his acting again? I think we all grew up with Robin's work. I will call him the Legend of the comedian world and so sad that we will not see his new work in the future - apparently only two new movies will be realized this year and the next year where he plays Teddy Roosevelt in the "Night of the Museum: Secret of the Tomp" and comedy "Merry Friggin' Christmas". RIP Robin Williams

I have to say, a true loss to the comedian industry. Two movies I really enjoyed were, Dead Poets Society, quote "I will try anything once, except ......" and Good Morning Vietman. Would love to see the dvd you speak of because stand up comedy and from a genius such as Robin Williams can only be worth the watch. He will truly be missed. Once again, the claws of depression has robbed the world of a legend.

From a child i have absolutely loved his movies ranging from Mrs Doubtfire, flubber, Hook, Patch Adams, Jack, Old Dogs etc. What a great actor, i was actually looking quite forward to Mrs Doubtfire 2, would have been really interesting to see how that movie was thought out. He will absolutely be missed, and watching a Robbin Williams movie will never be the same again.
However, this could be a lesson to people around us, that what you see on the outside is not always what is going on in the inside. We don't know the battles that people are going through, especially in these times, so we need to really start having more sympathy for people as hard as it is, be kind to others and if you cant be kind, rather be quiet. Its really sad that people suffering with depression are all around us, and we don't even know who they are.

It's really a shame. He was a good actor and I did enjoy some of his movies, not my fav actor but still a good one. When I was a little girl the movie Jack was my fav of him but when I got older the movie was actually quite sad. Rest in Peace

Robin Williams was a fantastic comedian and actor and I thoroughly enjoyed all of his work, especially the older movies such as Mrs Doubtfire and Patch Adams. He was truly fantastic in what he did and the industry, I am sure, will miss him.
