The leaked photos of Jennifer Lawrence and other stars illustrate again the dangers of selfies. It is not necessarily who you send them to – just having them on your own phone, and saved to the cloud, can be dangerous. Insiders say the photos, and a censored one of Jennifer Lawrence appears alongside this article, were hacked off Apple’s iCloud. Other speculate the passwords were picked up at another site and then used on iCloud but either way saving photos and files to the cloud clearly has advantages – and disadvantages. The reality is from the person next door, to the most famous and desired actress of the current time, the majority of people have photographs that could prove embarrassing in the wrong hands. Experts recommend changing passwords and using a password manager because the more sites you use the same password with, the more you expose yourself to these hackers. I have had attempted hacks made on my Gmail account and the hackers showed interest in items that only a lawyer or competitor would have any interest in. Once I changed my password I immediately got sent a fake phishing message allegedly from google requiring my new password. In recent times other systems at our firm have come under attack until certain additional systems were put in place.
Its terribly sad that people have their privacy violated, in some cases just because they are famous or powerful and it’s a disgraceful reflection on the people that hack the information and then leak them. I certainly hope if the offenders are caught they get a stiff prison sentence as cyber criminals needs to start getting whacked hard. I don’t think though, however much the various actresses are squirming now, that they should think people think less of them. I don’t think the pictures of Jennifer Lawrence are going to do her career any harm or that any normal man or woman will think anything other than sorry for her, but identify with her that she is just like them and has private pictures she was taking for someone special in her life or herself. She isn’t the exception in terms of the photo’s she had – except for her exceptional looks.

I find it fascinating though the capability of being able to hack.
I mean I personally know what needs to be known on how to use a computer and all the benefits that come along with that knowledge, but the endless power hacking actually gives people, is phenomenal, not only into a personas personal photo gallery but banks and highly secured databases, the world at your fingertips and no one knows who you are almost untraceable.

What happened to the delete button. If she didn't have the photos on her phone there'd be noting to hack,.
There's no problem with her pictures-its her own private pictures on her phone and she can do with it what she wants, but as a celebrity she should have known that hacking is possibility. If she really wanted to keep the photos-print it and put it away in a safe place.
The hackers are however disgraceful for invading her privacy or anybody elses.

I must agree, the painting is also driving me nuts. Oh and i wish that people can respect other people's privacy. This just tells me that who ever hacked into Jennifer's phone clearly did not have anything else to do.

I cant begin to imagine how i would feel if someone invaded my privacy and posted personal pics to the world but then again if it was that personal i would also make sure that its somewhere safe and could not be easily accessed or hacked into ;-)

LMAO @ Anna's comment!!! That painting is quite distracting... I don't know why she is even posing like that :'D Lol... Shame though... Her privacy was invaded but it's also her fault.
This really isn't going to do anything to her career or reputation. Maybe she will gain followers or fans but I don't think she will lose any. Many celebs have naked pics and nothing bad ever happened to them (I think).

She has nothing to be ashamed of. By now everyone has forgotten about it. What bothers me is how her privacy has been invaded and how many people save stuff on clouds etc.

I don't know Anna, I have to agree with Caron. It is definitely the lighting and perhaps the cameral lens/angle that makes the picture seem skew.

Anna, I believe the paintings straight it's the lighting that's giving the effect that it's skew.

Celebrities must know that they are being watched and stalked daily. I'm not surprised that these photo's were hacked from her phone. But it is clear that this will bring her much more publicity, as it has already, and will for sure escalate her career especially from a male point of view.
The saying goes.... If you've got it, flaunt it..... she took it literally. :)

I dont think it will affect her badly at all&just look at Davids comment for example, all men love it.&its just more publicity for her.
Technology is so dangerous no matter what, hackers will find a way. I would just like to know, how the hacker knew she had the photos on her phone or was it just a coincidence?

I can't stop staring at this photo....why hasn't someone straightened the painting on the right hand side of the photo? It's driving me nuts :-(

There are definitely a few people that won't be working as they will be glued to their screens all day. I just think it's wrong because everyone needs their own privacy.

Well I have to say, there are definitely more people that know about her now... in a few days everyone would forget that these photos came out and that her privacy was violated, just another persons who got a little more fame from "private pics"... She now has more fans, she should be glad...

It's horrible that her phone was stolen and her privacy invaded, but still no one can judge some people take naked photos and sent them to someone special and others just have them, it only became this BIG issue after people made it so shameful to be naked. This morning Five Fm discussed this whole story about Jennifer and her naked pics and DJ Fresh said "who cares she looks good and why do you care what people thing ,people is making this a bigger thing than it actually is"

I say she should find the hackers and sue the nonsense out of them. I feel terrible for her that her privacy was taken, so she likes to spice her life up and now these hackers go and exploit her, they the ones who should feel ashamed not her. Lucky for her she is pretty and has a body to die for so this will probably make her more famous, same like Paris hilton's sex tape and Kim Kardashian then eventually it fades away.

To be brutally honest, I don't care what Jennifer Lawrence does on her phone. What worries me is the fact that how many of us save things to "the clouds". If this is how easy it is to hack things, perhaps businesses should start thinking about what they are saving because this could open up a whole new way of stealing clients, ideas, etc, etc, etc.

So who took those pics in the 1st place...
Clearly you take them to send to someone initially, so people cant be shocked if their accounts get hacked... You wanted to send it to someone... I know its an invasion of privacy ect but you are a famous star, people go through your rubbish to see what you eat, really didn't think they will find you naked pics...

It is disgusting that people are not entitled to privacy and that it has in this case been violated. Celebrity or not, you are entitled to your privacy and to do what you you want to do. Unfortunately, she is more in the spotlight but at the end of the day, she is human and almost everyone takes those kind of photographs and you trust in the people you're sending them to or in the privacy of your cell phone and e-mail account. By taking these types of photographs you do run the risk of them being distributed but I do not believe this will have a negative impact on her or her career - in fact, people may be able to see a more human approach instead of thinking these celebrities are super human as some people do.
