I am always interested to read about the advertisements that are apparently the most popular with the public. I think that the surveys are definitely biased towards the big media agencies, and they seem to only list adverts created by them. A survey done by MillwardBrown suggests that the most popular advert in South Africa at the moment is the Samsung TV advert, where the father and son apparently are in the Roman Colosseum and the Mini Cooper chain reaction advert, both of which are in fact adverts produced overseas and are not South African made ads. The most popular advert at the beginning of the year, which was done in South Africa was the Gumtree classifieds advert. Other popular adverts at the moment include the new Mercedes C-class advert, the Mercedes C-class no alternative advert as well as the Melrose cheese moustache advert. I would be interested to hear which adverts on television have caught your eye, other than of course our own advert.

The Huggies nappy advert, when the two G's in the middle "Huggies" actually hug. Well played pun.

Oooooo I really love the new Polo Ad. Where the man gets bumped and goes 'Hatatata' and they eventually make a song of it... It's just too funny!

Nandos have pertinent, hilarious adverts that are always on point with regards to recent South African news. I think you have succeeded with an advert when people actually go to Youtube specifically to watch your advert/ and share it on Facebook etc.

I remember an ad a while ago for the Toyota Aygo. I just thought it was the funniest thing ever! Cutting the umbilical chord away. Brilliant really... I still love the Old Spice ad where the man is on a horse at the end. That stuff smells vile but it's a great ad. I also like the Savannah ads - those are just excellent!
It's weird how I like these ads and not the products....
I think the more humorous one catch my eye. If it's not funny then it's probably lame lol...

I love the city lodge advert, with the woman who takes the do not disturb a bit too seriously. Her actions and facial expressions are quite funny.

One ad that always sticks with me is where the guy robs a bank and runs out of the bank with the money but there is no get away car. The motto is "Need a car in a hurry". I think its Imperial Car Rental. I love when ads have humour, it really grips your attention. I also love some of the beer ads especially overseas ads where the guy sees an ugly girl in a bar and the more he drinks the more prettier the woman gets till eventually he runs out of beer and its back to square one with the woman looking ugly again, he then calls for a quick refill.

The kalahari.com advert always catches my eye, the seriousness of the kalahari man's face, the different methods they use to show the money one saves, etc. Another one I like is the Dodge ad, but again, it is because there is a part in the ad that always makes me smile and that is the part where the guys friends laugh at him because he thinks the woman is about to hug him.
