Petrol price to come down

The petrol price is going to be coming down, and not because of Rand strength.  this time it is the international price of fuel which has come down substantially and if in fact the Rand was strong, we would be seeing a bigger reduction.  In March 2013 the basic fuel price for 95 unleaded was R7,52 and at the moment it is R7,12.  As a result at the moment we are looking at about a 22c decrease from the current price of R13,61 for unleaded 95 petrol.  If the Rand was where it was a year ago we would probably be paying considerably less but we should not complain about a reduction in the rate and although it will not suit the oil producers, such as Russia and the Arab States, it appears that the fuel price will be coming down for still a few months more.  The link where you can find the fuel prices has changed and it can now be found at www.cefgroup.co.za/petrol-price/.

Its so nice to hear when petrol comes down but it's always a worry of how it will go up ten fold in the next couple of months.

Depending on where you buy, aviation fuel is cheaper than petrol. The decrease is always welcome though.

Fantastic news and close to Christmas as well which I'm sure will help to alleviate some families monetary worries to an extent.

Next problem we need to deal with is the proposed tax increase from next March :-(.

I am also happy that it is coming down as it is ridiculous for the amount we pay for just a short distance.. That can also be the reason that there are lift clubs as then everyone splits money for petrol that makes it cheaper for everyone.

I noted in a previous Blog comment that the fuel price would drop and continue to do so into the new year.

It is good news indeed but with us using public transport is the same because the fees are still the same and when the petrol price goes up the transport fee goes up

Lucretia  said:

I cannot believe the difference about what it should cost and what it costs. If the difference between the R7.52 and R13.61 is all the additional costs, then the RAF cannot complain and our roads should look a dam side better than they do. The more I see our roads, the more like North Africa we are starting to look.

Im glad the fuel price is coming down but the more it comes down the more they seem to push it up later down the line. 22 Cents decrease this month then 50-80 Cents increase ' Next month '. Hopefully it does come down some more because its getting ridiculous.
