I have written before about the power of stars, long after they have died, and in Michael Jackson’s case it is really taking on epic proportions. You will all remember that when he died his estate was basically bankrupt, owing money to everybody and he had financial problems before he died and was being forced to go on a new tour. While Dr Seus continues to roll in $10 million a year for his estate, many decades after he has died, from the sale of children’s books, Michael Jackson pulled in $150 million during 2014. The money accrues to his estate and his beneficiaries including his mother and his three children. It is quite incredible to realise that since he has died, and obviously he had no say in it, he has released 7 albums! The movie, “This is It”, earned $260 million and his estate has also made a lot of money out of a show called “The Immortal World Tour”.

I believe with every year goes - Michael Jackson's estate will make millions. So sad that even in the history the legend will die very poor and after death his memory will be sold for millions.

There was quite a controversy when they decided to release the new album with recordings that hadn't been released. A few family members thought it was disrespectful as he had not released them for a reason. But the new records did not tarnish his name and only increased his fans and wealth. I suppose his family is very lucky that they will be taken care of even after his death. It is morbid that things like art, movies and now songs, become even more popular after the death of the artist eg. Heath Ledger in the newer batman movies.

That's the thing about money, you cant take it with you when you die. Rather live life and have memories and enjoy your time on earth.

It sucks that he died broke though. He didn't have to work or do anything to make $150 million and here I am wondering how long I will have to continuing saving or how I am going to make my first million.

Just shows you how badly his estate was managed when he was still alive.

He was truly a brilliant artist and I'm truly thankful I was fortunate to see him perform live in concert. He is worth every cent he earned and his estate now earns!
The same goes for the likes of so many, including Theodor Seuss Geisel and Elvis Jesse Presley.

Funny how celebrities makes more money while they're dead. Hopefully his children will look better after his money then he did.

The good news is I don't have to worry that I never went to one of his concerts because the immortality of these stars means the entertainment just keeps coming whether they are dead or alive

Amazing at how that happens. At least his children will be sorted for the rest of their life, if they are not as careless as Michael was

Interesting, he seems to be making more money now that is dead. I am sure his beneficiaries are not complaining! I wonder though if he would have ever released those albums if he were still alive.
