Taking things for granted

I spent some time thinking recently about how we take so many things for granted.  What actually led to this was hearing about two ladies fighting about what tasks they have and who should do what when I am aware that that particular business is going to be closing down shortly and neither of them will have any work at all.  The human capacity to moan, complain and to find things to fight about is incredible.  One should sometimes think about what it is that is upsetting one and gauge whether or not that is a sign of a pretty good life!

If your issue in life is about what tasks are yours and what tasks are somebody else’s, I would suggest that life is going pretty well for you.  There are so many far more serious things that one could be worrying about or upset about and so maybe it is a very good sign of you life if that is the type of nonsense you are worrying about.  When you have true worries and when you are really in trouble, you will not be thinking about what is or is not your task at work.

It's such a waste of precious time worrying about petty things. Don't ever take things for granted... You only live life once. So live it to the fullest...

Make the best of the rest of your life. Stop living in the past and bickering over irrelevant things and worry about tomorrow. Take initiative and plan for tomorrow because yesterday will never come again.

I think it is important to take things serious in life and not to take things for granted and not to think we are too special for some of other tasks given and I think it is wise to not moan and just take responsibility of any task given

I have learnt long ago that life is short and things are not gonna get better unless you grad the issue by the balls and get over it. Enjoy what you have at the moment and take opportunists that come your way.

I once read "the person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draws back to himself positive results". Character is what makes a man. Let a man's character be his currency, that will tell you what he's really worth. Character is something that continuously needs to be developed in all of us, my personal opinion is that challenges are there for our development, you choose to either let those challenges make you better or bitter.

Life is about balance. Be kind but don't let people abuse you. Trust, but don't be deceived. Be content, but never stop improving yourself "Zig Ziglar".

The things we complain about everyday for example work, traffic, cleaning and cooking, someone else wishes that they could have had a job, a car to sit in traffic with, a house to clean and for food to cook so stop complaining and enjoy it, when in traffic, put your radio load and sing and dance along and i promise you when you are nearly home you would wish that you were still in the traffic listening to your music.

Everyone thinks I am better forgetting that life doesn't start with an I life changes all the time. We must be thankful and respect life

My recent car accident with my son on-board really gave me such a reality check, I realized that the Only thing that matters to me is his health, safety and happiness. The things that are important in this short life are family and being the best person you can be, being honest and kind in all of your dealings and ensuring you are doing your part. Of course this links to the other important things like making money to support your family but without your family and children there is nothing so appreciate them every day

I appreciate what I have, especially when I see how much people have these days. Not just physical things, but also the wonderful people around me.

I was listening to the radio last night on my way home and the song playing had the lyrics, "If you are going through tough times, we know, we have been there but remember that every day above ground is good." This got me thinking that sometimes we really do take things for granted and often we complain about the most trivial things without looking at the bigger picture and being grateful that we are able to step out of bed and be thankful that we have a job to go to everyday. Hard and devastating times most of the time really put things into perspective for you.

That is the problem these days isn't it. Be grateful of what you have and stop moaning about the petty things. Life could be a lot worse

I really agree with this article. Life is too short to stress the small things. There is actually a great book called "don't stress the small things" that is very inspirational. I think to the story of Simba Mhere's death recently. Life really is short and you have no idea when it is going to be over, grab life by the horns and stop complaining about things that don't matter and stop focusing energy on people that don't benefit your life.

Everyone takes things for granted, I guess that is human nature. Man is by nature, a political animal. We are all selfish and want more in life, until we realize what we have when we look at someone less privileged.
