I am a great believer in the flu injections, but what has worried me this year has been reports of it being relatively ineffective in America. The flu injection is based on a number of strains and predictions of the doctors and if they predict the wrong strains that will be common that year, then the flu injection does not really help at that time. Luckily the authorities are apparently working on this and new strains will be added to the flu injection that will be available in South Africa late in April, to deal with what was in fact the dominant strain of flu in America during their winter. That is particularly important because they got hit very hard with much nastier strains of flu than in recent years and obviously a virus that deals with those will be of great benefit to anybody who works, the young and of course the elderly, who are always at risk of dying from flu.

I think taking flu injection every year made me believe it works

I don't think it works and I really am not looking forward to getting it

There is no guarantee that the flu injections work.

There is no proof it works. It is a personal choice in taking it. It is not like vaccinations which are important.

Well after having the flu injection I never got sick at all last year so I am pro the injection. You do feel a bit off for a day or two but I really think it does work. I hate taking medication and would rather struggle through the pain than take a pill so I would rather prevent getting any form of illness. Proactive rather than reactive?

I get the flu injection every year because I am forced to do so. Does it work, who knows! I still get the flu, some say, it would have been worse had I not had the injection, are they correct, well that is debatable. Some doctors are for the flu injection, others not - with odd's like that, clearly no one REALLY knows if it works.

I had the flu injection for the first time last year - still on the fence about whether or not it actually works. Even though I am petrified of needles I think I will give it a try again this year. The flu has already started thanks to the change of season.

I don't believe in the Flu injection actually in general i don't find they work, my son had the all his injection and he has had chicken pox and everything as well so we pay for these injections and still get sick so it does really change much.

seems little point in injecting yourself with last year's flu virus.
it is a virus, and changes every year...

Flu injections are always a 50/50 chance. you never know how your body will react to it. the flu virus is such a complex thing that it constantly adapts to all the cures that people find.

I had a flu injection once and never again, I got sick about 2 months later from flu anyway. It didn't work on me
