The fifth season of Game of Thrones starts on 12 April 2015 and it will no doubt be anticipated by many fans. What I found interesting is the way that the television channels are combating online piracy and that is through making the programmes available in South Africa at the same time as they are made available overseas. That does not mean you would want to watch it at the time that it is actually broadcast, but they will now show the shows for example at a reasonable time at 9pm on a Thursday, but if you want to watch it as it comes out, you can then watch it live at 3am on Monday 13 April 2015 on channel 102! This means that people really don’t have the need anymore to go online and look for copies of popular shows because they can access them immediately. It is a far cleverer way to control advertising revenues and not make people wait 6 months or 6 weeks to see programmes where they would have read about what happened on the Internet long before it is broadcast in South Africa.

I must say that I love and I mean love this series, the best ever along with Shamless lol. I love this series because you never know what will be happening next in it. It keeps you guessing and stressing all the time lol.

I don't watch it but yesterday when I got home from work, my sister was watching it. I couldn't say a word to her. She just shushed me...
It must be a good show if everyone raves on and on about it - not sure if I will watch it though. I just don't have the time.

My ABSOLUTE favorite series! Takes me back to my student days when we used to download the series and watch long before Mnet even caught wind of it. The wait for the 5th season has just been too long. So excited to watch it.

It still doesn't stop it from being leaked. Right now there are 3 episodes from Game of Thrones season 5 on the internet! I prefer to watch a series once its completed or many episodes out already as I cannot wait for the following week, however everyone always speaks about it and spoils it, so will be watching season 5! #TeamKhaleesi

I have not watched Game of Thrones but I am going to start this coming weekend (convinced by Nicolle and Alexis). I heard on the radio this morning that apparently the 3am premiere this morning at Hype Park was absolutely packed with lots of fans all dressed up and even painted into costumes!
