I have not been on Facebook for a few years, and I really found that it is a little bit intrusive. I was quite interested to read though that rather than only have a positive side to Facebook where you can like other people’s posts, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that in future you will be able to dislike a post.
A lot of people make idiotic posts, but it will be interesting to see whether or not their so-called friends on Facebook will indicate their dislike for a statement when they make an inappropriate statement. I think probably not, but I can see the potential for people saying, “You were friends with X, so why didn’t you dislike it when they made a racist comment on their Facebook profile?”

I think it will cause a lot of trouble, if you don't like it just scroll down!

Quite interesting to have such a feature. Some people can be quite inappropriate and it would be nice for them to be shown that most do not appreciate it.

I like this feature, not just to maybe not like what someone is saying but especially to those people who post ugly things of animal and child abuse, racist remarks and comments and who can just sometimes blow something way out of proportion!

O what a way to blow someone's ego. I also think this will cause a lot of bad friendship. I'm not one for Facebook nor do i have an account i got irritated and delete my account and never went back. Will be interesting though to see some people's reactions.

I am not a facebook person at all, yes I do go on now and then, to see some photos that have been posted, I would like a few interesting things and the rest I actually do not even view. Its nice to see some of your old friends and see if they changed or if something big has happened in their life. I will not use the dislike button at all...

All I'm saying is I will be using the dislike button more than the Like Button on some peoples posts

Hmmmmm I don't think a Dislike button is really necessary. If you post stupid things then cool but what if you post what you might think is a really nice photo of yourself or someone else for that matter and you get 50 dislikes and 5 likes?? How are you supposed to feel about yourself? Lol...

I think some facebook users are malicious and others are sensitive so with the combination of these two there will probably be more drama on facebook.
However, I have never had a facebook account so I could be wrong in my prediction.

It can seriously deflate your self esteem - people can be very malicious and dislike your posts on purpose! Cyber bullying exists and it sucks :(

I'm excited about this! Will be disliking a couple of post.

Exciting times!
Facebook is very annoying because some people think it's a platform to air whatever minute thing that is happening in their lives "attention seeking people".

I cant wait for this to happen, its going to be so much fun to see what people really think of others opinions and doings on social media.

I think that would be a fantastic extra on Facebook. There are so many posts that i read that i just wish there was a dislike button, especially when people start spilling their dirty laundry all over social media. There is a time and place for everything and i think people use Facebook very inappropriately at times and they need to know that they are being foolish.

This sounds like a good idea, it will keep idiotic posts off facebook.

Seems like an easy way to lose facebook 'friends'. It will be interesting to see how people will use the dislike button, should it be made available.

If Facebook gives you the option to like a comment, status etc, then why shouldn't you have an option to dislike something. I think its a good idea. I'm surprised this hasn't happened long ago!

The dislike option seems legit because some people post the most dumbest statuses for attention-seeking reasons where they think people must feel sorry about their situation. Maybe there would be less negative things to read when you check your facebook

Personaly I think the dislike option is not a good idea it is only going to make people leave more snotty comments about other and it is going to get serious, some people will also get hurt because of the dislike you get rude people out there that don't care about other peoples feelings

I would like the dislike button, because some people would put a bad status and it would inform them that it's not appropriate to write such statuses.

How exciting. NOT. I really don't think they need to change anything. Adding a dislike button is not going to get anymore people to join. #TeamInstagram #TeamSnapchat

I would say Dislike statement will more interesting to see "150" likes, Facebook is anyway the network way of sharing your news or things happened in your life to family members or friends. Dislike will be a good offence.

I don't really use Facebook that much but would be interesting to see how many people would actually use this dislike button.

He said the purpose of the dislike is for when bad things happen. For example, people announce the death of a parent, then it isn't really appropriate to press Like, so instead you can press Dislike to show your sympathy

If i post something that no one likes then so be it, its my page and i can post what i want, i don't really care about if people like it or not. However it will be funny to see who likes and dislikes peoples comments.

I am quite excited about the dislike option. I often see comments and posts that I don't agree with and I think the dislike option will allow people to tell people you're posting about nonsense or that was not appropriate or on a lighter note, that photo is not as cute as what you think it is lol.
