The iPhone 7 has now been launched at the traditional Apple launch party, this time coincidentally on September 7. The 7 Plus, which is the model that I am interested in has a new dual camera that takes Raw footage, which allows professional photographers to edit photos and change colours more easily and the camera alone is a good reason to upgrade. That is the excuse I gave last year anyway, and it remains my excuse for this year! Another good reason to upgrade is that the new version has 1 to 2 hours extra battery life, a far better chip and more capabilities in terms of graphics, games, etc. The images will look slightly superior, they will run faster, but apart from that, it is not a dramatic upgrade despite the fact that the earphone slot is removed, and everyone is now forced to move into the wireless world. They do at least supply you with wireless headphones, called Air Pods.
There is obviously a limit to how much fancier phones can get every year, and I would like to see much more dramatic improvements in battery life, but the improvements with the cameras each year, and the photographs they can take always provide a great excuse to upgrade, because truthfully these days most people use their phones to take their photos and a more expensive, high resolution camera is obviously going to guarantee that you will take better photos – so parents with young kids will find all the motivation they need in that regard! From what I have read most of the experts say if you are on Version 6 of the iPhone you probably don’t need to spend the money to upgrade, but for people on previous versions it will be a proper opportunity to upgrade to the latest technology!

I have an iphone now and I enjoy it, however I don't think I would get another one just because they are so expensive (especially since I won't use most of the fancy things they are able to do)

I think the IPhone 7 upgrade that new dual camera will attract people's interest even if the earphone slot is removed but replaced by Air Pods

Lucky for me my contract has just expired and I am due for an upgrade! I am very excited to get the new IPhone. I have been a Samsung fan for years now but its time to try something new!

I am extremely keen to get the iPhone 7, I used to only make use of Samsung products and since I have switched to Apple I cannot see myself going back. Just need to wait for my upgrade time and I can move onto the 7!

I would give a try and get experience of using apple IPhone 7, I see in Europe majority people prefer Apple but they do not know anything about Samsung. But the question is when this IPhone will be coming to SA and what will be the price, just do not feel like going on 2 year contract again.

It is very impressive that the apple is coming up with all these new ideas and upgrades, but unfortunately there are more important things I would rather spend my money on. I am very happy with my little samsung, it does what it needs to do and the little extra's it has is more than enough for me. I just cannot justify spending so much money on a mobile defice that has absolutely no long term value.

I still won't choose iPhone over android.
Also, are they ever going to create wireless chargers instead of wireless headsets? Lol

I personally prefer the android system because it is more user friendly. I might consider getting an IPhone one day when it comes out with something that really attracts my attention.

Whoo hoo! Yes, so excited! I had the unfortunate event of having my IPhone 6S stolen at court, so looking forward to maybe getting the IPhone 7!

I have always used a Samsung and I don't think I will change anytime soon. The iPhone 7 doesn't come cheap and so will give it a miss!

Waste of my hard earned money to upgrade every year - It's great not paying a contract every month. If I could afford to buy it cash and throw away money on a phone that is highly likely to be stolen I would but I am into saving money :) However I am an apple fan and truthfully speaking I probably need a new phone. I wonder at what point will iphone stop upgrading....

I would love to get an IPhone but they are very expensive and difficult to use. I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 and it takes better photos than the IPhone 6, I don't think I would upgrade for at least another year

I also enjoy the Android system more. Although I have many friends who are very happy with the iphone. It is really amazing to see the quality of photos taken by cellphones these days. I must say the quality of the camera is very important to me when I decide to upgrade.

I've never had an iPhone but my dad has one. I don't think it's a very user friendly phone. I prefer Android.

I do not own an IPhone and not sure if I ever will, but taking into consideration the super photo quality and appeal to photographers I may reconsider. Personally, I do prefer the Android operating system.

Apparently the iphone 7 doesnt have an Aux outlit... seems apple is recreating the way things work. So sorry i cant play your song at my party. of course there is always bluetooth. but the graphic on the iphone is outstanding. Still a Samsung fan. Android
