Never enough RAM for computers

I was quite impressed with my set-up for my new computer, and I say new because I’ve had it for about a year, which was 32Mb of RAM.  I really thought it had far more power than most computers would have.  I have been struggling recently in trying to put together some videos on Adobe Premier Pro, which is a video editing software and my computer keeps crashing on me.  I went back onto the website of the specialist company that put together my last computer – a super silent computer which makes almost no sound at all – to see what specifications they recommend for using Adobe Premier Pro.  They say 32Mb of RAM is an absolute minimum!  In fact, their recommended set-up has more RAM that I even knew was possible these days which is 512Mb!  All that I have to do is to find a computer that combines that amount of RAM or perhaps half of that, because I am not putting together major international movies, that goes together with a fairly silent system!

It is crazy to see how technology is developing - as most of the others have said, I can not imagine working on my first PC in this day and age. Companies will never stop making money, as you will always need to upgrade and expand to keep up with what you need to be doing.

Keeping up with developments in technology is great, if you can afford it! Don't try to keep up with the Joneses unless your wallet gives you permission to do so

It is crazy to see how technology is improving every day. As soon as you think you are set with a great system, something bigger faster and better comes out. Don't think we will ever be able to keep up.

RAM Is always very important! If there is not enough space it will cause your computer to run slowly and it wont respond when doing certain tasks. The more the merrier I say..

I don't know why they even sell PC's with limited RAM Space when even cellphones have enough storage and speed. But I suppose companies want to always ensure a customer always has to come back for more.

Technology is improving every day, I still remember my first computer if I think back it was so big, bulky and ugly. Those screens was the worst ever. Now we have Laptops and can take it anywhere without much effort.

If you talk computers you talk Greek to me. Technology is taking over and if you want to be up to date you need to have a bigger RAM.

Well my Samsung S7 edge comes with a 64mb (32mb standard on the phone and 32mb memory card) memory. So ya 32mb is very little.

Keeping up with the technology of today is pretty expensive. I've heard of extreme gamers who spend a fortune on their computers only to update in within a year. Seems like a waste of money to me. I'm happy with my laptop even if it's 3 years old.

Hence Apple is the best for design programs. But with any and all technology you always need to improve or upgrade in order to keep up with what is out there

I think technology is taking over. To keep up with todays technology are quite impossible, especially with computers.

Ram is always a problem, even when you increase it, it will run out eventually. We will always need more space for some extra documents or information that we would like to safe as well. I have to say 512Mb of ram is a lot and cant believe that one program can use so much.

That is something that should have been brought to your attention when by the company that set up your computer in the first place. But it is unfortunately something that is kept quiet because the more you have to call them to come in and "fix" the problem, the more money they will make out of you. Sometimes we do not know all the ins and outs of how much RAM you need and that is how these companies catch their prey.

That is so annoying, I think they do this so people are forced to buy more expensive computer with more memory. Unfortunately if you want the best you need to be willing to pay because a standard computer is not good enough.

I am sure most people experience these problems, I have no doubt that computers will be improved and modified to include this specific requirement.

Maybe the computer producers are in partnership with the businesses selling external memory? However, with the ever increase in streaming perhaps this has taken over the must to have larger permanent storage space

Everything needs to change an grow in order to stay relevant, it is the market we live in where everything gets improved way too quickly and everything has to be done now and with speed.

A person can never keep up with the technology of today, you pay a lot of money and you still don't get the quality you need

It is scary how everything develops you will never be able to keep up with todays technology as soon as you think you have a new RAM or new phone they advertise a new one that is out, we will never be satisfied with what we have

It is so frustrating when you want to do something important on your computer crash.
I know most of the time when your computer does not have enough space it keeps on loading and is very slow.
I think the first thing you must check when buying a new computer is the RAM space.

I guess people will never be happy with what they have. We will always want more and better, that is just the way the human mind works. If someone has something you also want it and better if possible. To keep up with todays technology are quite impossible, especially with computers.

People are always given the bare minimum unfortunately, suppose in a way to make sure that you come back for more. They should ultimately give you what you are looking for and provide you with what you need - it is a waste of time

Like everything in life, there is never enough for our needs and practically every service provider/sales division benefits as a result. Perhaps a standard should be to only provided the best of a product in the event that you require the optimum out of a product or do not want to ever upgrade due to space constraints or the product not performing in a way that you find yourself needing. Lay out the larger amount upfront and know that you are completely covered and sorted should you ever need the space or ultimate satisfaction from the product that you are buying. Ultimately we will always find ourselves wanting/needing more, maybe not if the products are just sold fully loaded as a standard?

Contrary to popular belief - the best things in life or should I say the more convenient things in life are not for free. It all comes with a price... Those fortunate enough to afford the best of everything never have to struggle with slow or noisy computers :).

These companies are so clever they know very well if you don't have enough memory you will have to buy another one which they will recommend and say it is more advance than the one you have or you will have to expand your RAM.

As with all things in life, we never have enough of anything. Consumerism, after all, is a social and economic order and ideology that encourages the acquisition of more and more goods and services in ever-increasing amounts.
