Trekz Titanium works well

I recently went into a technology shop that basically specialise in selling only the hottest and latest gadgets.  A lot of them of course are never really going to succeed, but I asked them what their hottest selling product was and they told me it was the Trekz Titanium, so I bought one and I actually found it pretty worthwhile.  When I was at school, one of the guys I was at school with wanted to become an Air Force pilot and got turned down because they said his hearing was not good enough because he had been wearing headphones his whole life and listening to music in closed headphones.

It is apparently quite bad for you to listen to music in that way and Trekz delivers the music to you in a completely different way to anything you have tried before.  It conducts music or even your phone calls through your bones – delivering the music to the ears via your jaw and you hear the vibrations that way.  In other words, you don’t have anything over your ears.  The particular benefit of this, for those of you who might be wondering why else you would want to use it, apart from damaging your ears too much with conventional headphones, is that while you are walking outside, or in my case riding my bicycle, you can also hear everything else.  The sound is not as good as the traditional earphones that you would wear over your head, but there is certainly a lot of comfort in being able to hear the noise, cars, or other people or riding, walking or running on the road and not being oblivious to all sounds – some of which you sometimes need to hear for your own safety.

I've never seen this device before and its quite an interesting gadget. My children would go nuts for a pair of these, I'm sure that this will last longer then their current earphones that we keep having to replace every three months.

This is pretty interesting. I suppose it would be wise to conserve our eardrums for our old age so that we don't have to say "pardon" or "huh" all the time.

Wow this is so cool, I haven’t heard or seen it before. I personally don’t like earphones at all, this is definitely a better option. In the gym some people’s music is so loud you can hear it when you stand next to them, it can’t be good?!

Technology is amazing and there will always be something new that no one has thought of as yet. One can only wonder what the next twenty years will hold for us and even for the next generations to come. Not sure if I will buy Trekz any time soon but it is definitely safer to use if you can still listen to everything happening around you.

Wow, what next? What are our children and grandchildren going to be facing one day, "beam me up scotties" to get from one place to the next, food in pill form. All of this is no longer a wth thinking, it is possible......music through your bones shows it is possible.

I would consider getting this innovation for my kids. My child will be 11 and already she has massive hearing problem listening her parents! Most of the time she is in her headphones and sometimes world around her does not exist, would give a try to purchase Trekz Titanium if i can find in South Africa?!

It sounds like Treks Titunium is the best, works well without covering ears compare to the headphones that cover the ears and cause damage to the eardrum and loss of hearing as a result. I think it is not safe to cover ears and not be able to hear noise at the surrounding.

I am one of those who is wearing earphones listing to music or my radio, nowadays everyone is wearing headphone even on the dangerous zone. Trekz Titanium sounds amazing but I am sure the price is high.

My phone often turns my music down for me, telling me that it is not good for my hearing, I tend to just ignore and put it up again. The thing about music and certainly certain types of music - it is great to listen to it at full blast. I suppose the above is just assisting a problem caused.

I was never a fan of using headphones because I was always scared of what it would do to my hearing! This seems like a worthwhile investment and a safer option which is always better! As soon as this product takes off I’m sure the person who invented it is going to make a killing!

This is an excellent idea. I am always hammering on my sister, who loves to jog with earphones in her ears, about how dangerous it is not to be able to hear what is going on around you, and I think this will be a perfect substitute. The only problem is that most people enjoy listening to very loud music, however safety should trump pleasure.

This is actually quite incredible. Who thinks of stuff like this... hearing sounds through your bones? That is something new i have learnt today. I do struggle with headphones and i very seldom listen to anything through headphones, so this is something i would definitely like to invest in.

The human body is astounding - to think that sound can travel through our bones! Often in road races, runners are not permitted to have earphones in for that very reason - not being able to hear cars, bikes etc. This would allow runners to not only be vigilant of their sorrounds but also give them that little extra kick that music often gives us whislt excercising!

I think that is really cool it is about time that they actually made earphones that are 'Ear Friendly' , Because normal earphones damage your ears excessively especially if you use earphones on a daily basis. So i think this would be a great investment for someone who does constantly listen to music through earphones

WHAT?????? I need this in my life!!!!!!!! At first it sounded dumb but if I think about it, it really is a brilliant device.
This could save lives. Pedestrians are oblivious to other sounds when they have earphones or headphones permanently stuck on their heads.
I have gone to 2 different ENTs in 2 years (trying to find a solution) but I think I have permanent tinnitus in my left ear due to listening to loud music. It's the price I pay for wanting this music life.
The only problem would be going to gym with them. Surely other people will be able to hear what you are listening to? Even slightly?

Wow, I have no words to describe how incredible this device sounds! Many people listen to music at high volumes through headphones constantly and I am sure it can be quite damaging to ones hearing. This is certainly a great invention, people can enjoy their music without causing damage to their hearing. I can imagine that these kinds of gadgets are extremely pricey but worthwhile in the long run because they don't cause damage your hearing.

Quite interesting that's how many pedestrian related accidents happen because they could not hear a car approaching, but realize when its too late . This would be beneficial to a lot of people.

I think this is an amazing gadget and also the way it’s designed to protect your hearing
I also think this will be a much better and “healthy” gadget than your old earphones
These days I see a lot of people driving with earphones and I do not think it’s very wise to do so as you can’t hear someone hooting etc.

What an interesting gadget. I am one of the guilty ones who loves my earphones and my music is loud. As someone who has a hearing problem and has to wear hearing aids but don't, I think this could be awesome if you can hear everything else - not suggesting it's a replacement for hearing aids just that if it can help a little why not. And I think to listen to music without earphones is way better that with earphones. Sound like a good buy.

Cornelie  said:

This Trekz Titanium sounds like something I will buy, I get so nervous when I see people driving in cars with their earphones in you cannot hear if something goes wrong around you even for our children much safer to use.

This is very nice but I don't like the style of this gadget, But I like it. I have to agree with Liesl that we only realise how silly you were when you are older. Ear phones do have a negative impact on our ears but so does a lot of other things.

Liesl  said:

Very interesting concept. I have often heard of people complaining that their hearing has become poor because of earphones. The sad thing is that you only realise how silly you were when you were younger when you older and the damage is already done. The safety concept to it is also huge. By the sounds of it this little gadget is a good buy all round

Almost everybody use earphones and I know that it's harmful to your ears. I think Trekz Titanium is a great way to protect your ears. You only have one pair so use them wisely.

What an interesting gadget! The youth of today blast their ears with all types of music and I think this will be great in still doing that without damaging your ears. Great concept.

there is a lot of pedestrians that get hit as a result of earphones. this si revolting technology and will go a long way in helping most pedestrians.

Earphones are something almost all youngsters use and even adults. I don't really make use of earphones that much. But when I hear someone's music while they use earphones, I can just think what it will do to their eardrums. I think people need to be more aware of the Trekz Titanium. Anything that benefits our health will be a good seller.

Jadine Richards  said:

Wow that's a pretty cool gadget. I don't think many people, especially the youth , realize how sensitive the eardrum is. I hope people really start using this more. It would be helpful if road users, whether they are drivers, pedestrians, or cyclists were more aware of their surroundings.
