I have been spending quite a bit of time recently trying to fit in 3 or 4 sessions of yoga a week – in fact, on one occasion I did 5 days in a row. I have to say I am not very good at it, but I do think it is very good and it certainly helps get you to a more peaceful state in the day, if only for a few hours, after doing it. It is also one of those things where, without being able to explain it eloquently, you just feel that it is something your body needs. When you have done a few sessions and you don’t go for a few days, you get that sense that your body is aching for you to go back.
On a more funny side I sometimes idly theorise that yoga has been made popular by women simply to illustrate how useless men are at some types of strength! In theory it must be something that involves strength, but I find that the men in a class are almost always the most useless. There are ladies who are in far worse outward physical shape than some of the male participants in the class, but they can still support the entire weight of their body on their hands and do all sorts of other tricks that most of the men are absolutely struggling with. I go to every class with comfort knowing that, unless there is another man in the class, I am already going to be the most useless person in the entire class and so there is certainly no actual pressure on me! - and no, of course I don’t do things like headstands – I struggle to balance on one foot standing up in the first place, let alone standing on my head! Yoga, like golf can do sometimes as well, is pretty good at putting you in your place until you get a little bit more skilled – at which point no doubt there will be other tricks and classes that will put your right back to the bottom again.

I have heard some interesting stories about yoga and it definitely isn’t the sort of exercise class you want to underestimate. I have seen some classes on TV once and it looks like it is physically challenging contrary to what some people may believe, apparently it is also good for one’s mind and relaxing.

A few years ago I watched videos of how to do Yoga, just the basic moves. And I must admit even then I would never be able to participate in this type of exercise, I can only imagen how it will look now if I must try a few moves. But there is no doubt about the fact that Yoga is very good for you.

When I was still at school I tried yoga, but I bought those exercise yoga DVD's. I always wished that I could attend a class, but where I live they don't really offer such classes or even anything close to it (of which I know of). It is more difficult than it looks so I would also probably look funny and useless if I had to attend a class.

I use to do Bikram Yoga, "torture chamber" with my sister, and I loved it. It is the same as normal yoga however the room is heated/steamed up, and it lives by its name, it is definitely not for the faint heated but what an experience, and you feel so rejuvenated after a session, even though half way through it feels like you are dying. But would recommend anyone to at least go to one class and experience it!

Yoga is the way to make you mind to rest and make you feeling more positive and happier. The studies I did in university also showed me how yoga can change your not only physical but the mental situation. I love yoga myself, being clumsy and not very flexible, i am still trying!

I absolutely love yoga, I don't do it as much as I use to which should actually change. It really is a great stress and tension reliever.

Yoga is my favorite exercise! It's not just an exercise for your body, but for your mind too. It's a holistic type of exercise which is what I really enjoy about it. I need to get around to doing yoga more often and this is a great reminder. And yes, the men do battle and it can be hilarious but they derive just as much benefit from a session as anyone else.

I have so many friends that do yoga and swear by it. I have never tried it. I would think it's very calming actually and would love to try it but I am very skeptical about the whole "open your mind" business.

Yoga seems fairly interesting.I think if I were to work out, which I have never done before, I would opt for something like yoga. I would definitely do very badly but if it can help me focus a bit then it would be worth a shot.

Yoga is more the relax type of exercise and something that I would like to do. I stimulates the brain as well as the body and hear that people doing Yoga have to at least do it once a week.

I have been thinking about taking up Yoga. They say it is very good especially if you have a high pressure stressful job. It helps you to center and refocus.

I don't believe yoga is for everyone, I'm sure its more enjoyable and less painful than acupuncture but I'd much rather avoid both.

I feel that it is imperative to have balance within your exercise regime. Yoga at least once a week can have tremendous benefits, to name but a few; yoga assists with posture, flexibility, muscle strength, prevents cartlidge and joint breakage, increases blood flow and assists with lymph drainage and immunity! With practice, I am sure that you will master the head stand!

I enjoy Yoga and always find if I haven't been to the gym in a while that the perfect place to start is with a Yoga class which makes one more at ease. I completely agree, even if you are not spiritual it definitely is a place where you realize how beneficial it is to meditate. I often try not think about too much but I find myself reflecting alot in Yoga class. It is a great place to be on your own. It certainly isn't as easy as one thinks but after practice you become more flexible and get better at it. Thanks to this blog I think Bikram Yoga class is just what I need to de-stress!

Yoga sounds awesome but honestly i have never tried it. What I know of Yoga is that it is an old discipline from India. It is both spiritual and physical. Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation. It helps to improve health and happiness. Yoga is the Sanskrit word for Union.

Yoga is fantastic. It builds strength and at the same time relieves anxiety and tension. It's much easier than meditation for people that struggle to sit still. In fast paced and stressful times it is important to do something that helps you relax. I don't think women are more capable at yoga at all, I have had some very competent male yoga teachers. I just think it's about mindset. Some men don't feel comfortable stretching in those ways as it may appear awkward or more feminine. The trick is to just get out of that mindset, realise that everyone looks just as awkward as you do and just do it anyway without worrying about it.

I started doing yoga at some point and found it to be quite enjoyable and relaxing. The moves required can sometimes be very tricky but as well hits you in a spot that you never knew you had.

i have never tried it, but one of my friends is a yoga addict and she loves it, she is also over 40 and the most chilled flexible person i know. (i cant even touch my toes at this stage) yoga takes time, its not like gym where to take supplements to help your training by 150%. do do believe that it strengthens your code. and would love to do it but in my area no one is giving classes

there's a yoga class that happens in the same centre and directly opposite my daughter's swimming class. i wish they'd keep their curtains closed. it's very distracting, and i have not been giving proper attention to the swimming.
