Tiger Woods back in form

I am a big Tiger Woods fan and it has been fantastic to see the massive surge he has had up the world ratings this year.  Let’s not forget that he is 42 years old, he is turning 43 on 30 December and he has had a spinal fusion.  Many of the clients of my personal injury firm are not able to do work after a spinal fusion, but Tiger Woods can still swing a club at 129 miles an hour and compete at the top of the sporting world despite being close to 43 years old and having had the spinal fusion.  Let’s not forget that at the beginning of the year he was ranked 1199th in the world, and with the season almost coming to a close he is now 21st in the world – ahead of every single South African, for example.

His results so far have included a 2nd in the PGA Championships and a tie 6th in the British Open, which is normally known simply as The Open.  If his injuries hold off for now it will only be a question of how soon he will win and not if.  He has been written off many times and the Tiger haters were all very vocal about 6 or 7 months ago that he would never ever win another tournament in his life.  A recent survey in Golf magazine found that 98% of PGA tour players, and they would know better, believe that Tiger will win another tour event and 90% of them believe that he will win another major.  To quote one of the tour players who gave the quote anonymously, on the prospects of Tiger winning again “A year ago:  No way.  Now:  No doubt.”

Tiger Woods is an absolute legend for reasons such as these. Just shows one what can be achieved when you are not only hard working but actually passionate about what it is that you are doing.

Well I take my hat off to Tiger woods, If someone has something to say then why are they not out there giving it a go instead of hating. He has accomplished so much in his career he should be proud.

Tiger Woods really is someone one could look up to in terms of his sporting career. It truly is a tough sport and it's difficult to become an "overnight success" even with years of practice and determination...

Most certainly an inspiring individual. We have people who have never been affected by tragedy or ailment, and, yet, they are not in the good shape that this man is in. I guess, to a certain extent, genes play a role. Needless to however, the man is a legend.

When greatness is within you not even illness or injury can keep you from something you love and are passionate about.

I think luck is on his side but don't see him going on for another two years. For me age is no longer on his side and given his injuries the end is inside.

With all the injuries and publicity that Tiger Woods has gone through, you would've expected him to isolate himself and stay out of the limelight. It's pretty inspirational to see someone with so much perseverance and dedication to their sport and talent. Stuff happens in life and it's nice to see someone bounce back.

It just goes to show that determination and perseverance can go a long way- I feel as though if you accept your situation as it is you will never change it. Tiger Woods has had a lot of obstacles to go through and he can out stronger, which not a lot of people can say.

Despite the bad press he really is an inspiration to many. People tend to focus on the bad instead of remembering or looking for the good. Really hoping he can win, would build up his reputation again, but he still has a huge fan base

I myself have always been a Tiger Woods fan. When he first came onto the scene in the late 1990's just the way he carried himself, i enjoyed watching him play. I was super chuffed when he became the first golfer to consecutively win the 4 major golfing tournaments. Even when his name was dragged through the mud with his indiscretions, and his golfing was affected by same, I knew this man would be back because you cannot take the swing out of the man........................

I don't know much about Golf or how to even play it, but i wish Tiger Woods to win because they are a lot of people that look up to him and are inspired by him to play golf

Never mind him being the best at what he does but he is probably one of the most good looking men out there on that age. He is really a roll model for so many people.

I read that Tiger Wood's parents discovered his talent from a young age and I definitely think that makes a difference in how good you would be and always be in a sport. It's like exercise - the more time you have for it the more time you have to look and feel incredible. It is nonetheless quite impressive!

Nina  said:

It will be quite a comeback if he manages to win a big tournament again. I think most people actually thinks he is totally out of the game and it will be a very big surprise if he becomes one of the best again.

Tiger has certainly faced many adversities, including the public's perception of him following the 'affair ordeal'. He is certainly a resilient and admirable man within the sporting realm. Some have said the following;

'This will be Woods' final shot at a major win in 2018. He is coming off a strong showing at The Open -- he led for a time on Sunday -- but followed it up with a poor effort at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, an event in which clearly he spent the weekend dealing with a stiff back.'

Albeit that he has had a spinal fusion, he is not without any symptoms and the strain may being to set in, noting his age as well.

None the less, wishing him the best at his upcoming tournament!
