I have not seen all the movies that have been nominated for Oscars this year, but I have seen a lot more than most people probably have. The one that had the most nominations so far is one of the ones I have not seen and is fairly easy to see, because it is available for free on Netflix, namely The Irishman. I have not seen that, although I have more patience for arty movies than most people do, I don’t have the patience that my wife does and she can watch movies that I find incredibly boring. She has told me that The Irishman was terribly boring and she cannot possibly see why it has been nominated for Oscars and if that is what she thinks then I cannot possibly bear to watch the movie!
Amongst the big contenders and the ones I have seen include Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 1917, Parasite and Jo Jo Rabbit. 1917 is incredibly filmed to create the impression that it is all one long sequence - when it is not - and I do hope it picks up an award or two especially for cinematography. My two favourites of the year would definitely be Parasite, which is a Korean movie that is similar, in some respects, to Get Out, which should have won the Oscar for best picture last year, but came second instead. Most of my staff members are familiar with Get Out because I paid for my entire staff to watch the movie. Parasite is almost a Korean version of that and it is a marvellous movie and well worth watching. Jo Jo Rabbit is a fantastic movie if you like a movie to teach you something and in this case warn you of the dangers of anti-Semitism. It is an absolute wonderful and humorous parody of the Nazis and is a movie that my children have already watched once and I bought it recently on Apple TV so that they can watch it a second time. I would love to see Jo Jo Rabbit or Parasite win the Oscar for best picture, alternatively Sam Mendes’s 1917.

I do not really watch tv, I mostly listen to the radio, but when I do, it would be when someone recommends a certain movie or series that is good.

I have not seen this movie "Parasite" or the Oscars, but when reading the reviews this sounds very interesting to watch. I have also noted that “Parasite” was the first movie not in English to win best film. It also won best director, best international film and best original screenplay.
This is definitely going to be the next movie to watch.

It was interesting to watch Oscars this year. I would watch Once upon a time in Hollywood with Brett Pitt. I see this film received few Oscars. 1917 looks very good too.

I recently watched Parasite and I do agree with you. It was a brilliant movie and surely deserved that Oscar award. I have to say though that I have not watched the Oscars in years.

I love watching the red carpet of the Oscars, the fashion always excites me. The only movie that I have watched that was up for an Oscar was the Irishman- I thought it was pretty good.

I honestly did not get chance to watch this year, I think its difficult to nominate whom would win an award as i have seen a few movies in my life whom should of have been nominated and others have not even heard of it, Each to their own i guess when it comes to preference if what they enjoy watching.

I definitely need to give parasite a watch if its like get out, I loved get out - I didn't enjoy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood it kind of feels like the movie is more for people that are behind the scenes of Hollywood. The Irishman I haven't seen and cant say I'm planning on it seems quite long and boring.

I'll be honest when I say that I have not heard about one of these movies. I mostly enjoy series like The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, PD and Med.

The Irishman definitely deserved its two wins for the night including best documentary by American Factory - it was also one of the most. The performance in this movie by Robert De Niro was excellent

I enjoy reading posts like these before an event. I cannot believe that Parasite actually won best picture. I have not seen it myself, but I would truly love to see it ASAP.

I love watching the Oscars, but unfortunately I did not watch it live this year. I enjoy watching movies, but I haven't seen any of them mentioned - seems like I have some catching up to do.
I read some commentary on the Oscars and It seems as if it was more of a political debate than the celebration of films and art. In my opinion, the Hollywood elite should realize that by changing something meant to be entertaining into a socio-political debate will not be beneficial in the long run - no wonder less people are keeping track with celebrity award show.

It's always interesting to read posts like these before an event, and come back again afterwards. Although a big surprise, you were spot-on with Parasite wining best picture. I have not seen it myself, it does not seem to be my taste, but it is refreshing to see a foreign film win.

I have also not watched any of the new movies but have seen most of the trailers. I think everyone that won deserved it and it was great to see a non-English film winning and hopefully we will see more non-English films winning the Oscars.

The movie Parasite sounds very interesting and obviously if it won an Oscar, it must be. I haven't seen or heard about any new movies thus far as I haven't been keeping up with it, I think I will be watching the Oscars as well and taking note of the nominees as well as winners.

I heard little snippets this morning on the radio and I think I will be watching the Oscars tonight, for the first time in a long time... My boyfriend watched The Irishman and loved it. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I intend on doing so this week sometime. Parasite will be on my watchlist as well!

Well your predictions were pretty good. I heard on the radio that Parasite received an Oscar and the 1917 did exceptionally well as well. I have read the blurbs of both movies and they seem very interesting and definitely something worth watching.

I do not watch a lot of TV, and prefer to read to be honest. I cannot remember the last time I had watch the Oscar's, but I see that you were quite happy that a foreign film won. The foreign film industry is booming to say the least, even some of the series on Netflix are very enjoyable and have really good acting with a story line to go with it.

JoJo Rabbit is definitely my favourite movie of the year (so far). The director and 'Hitler' , Taika Waititi, is such a character and did a really good job with this. I don't particularly like the Oscars and adopt a more 'Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes' approach to these things.

I have not had a chance to watch any of these movies yet. I have seen that Little Women is one of the nominees. I watched the 1994 version of the movie and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely have to make time to watch the new one this weekend.

I haven't had the unfortunate pleasure of watching The Irishman, highly doubt I would considering I don't have patience for out-dragged boring films. However, Get Out was a really good film, I quite enjoyed it, and I will definitely give Parasite a try. I lived in South Korea for 3 years, so it would strangely enough bring a sense of nostalgia, with regards to scenery and location of course. This weekend is will go towards Jo Jo Rabbit and Parasite.

Unfortunately I have not watched any new movies lately but I have heard through the grape vine that Parasite was a captivating movie that I certainly need to watch. I have had a soft corner for movies based on mafia and the Irishman certainly struck me as a mafia themed movie. I am intrigued to see which of the movies will win an Oscar.

I am going to be honest say and say that I do not enjoy the artsy kind of films, and I do get bored quickly. Although I would love to see Get Out. I have only seen The Irishman on Netflix but did not actually watch it, and as for the rest I have not heard of them. May the best of the best win.

I also enjoyed watching Jo Jo Rabbit. I love movies and all kind of movies. I think out of every movie you should actually learn something when watching it. Like Fast and Furious, I learned that life is so short and people should not take time for granted.
