Anti-vaxxers starting again

It is amazing, with no actual vaccine even in sight for Covid-19, how the anti-vaccination forces are already starting.  There have been a lot of people over the years who have tried to discredit vaccinations and complain that they lead to autism and all sorts of other things when there is absolutely no scientific proof at all.  Unfortunately we are living in a world now where people believe that they are entitled to their opinions, regardless of the facts.

Amongst the latest conspiracy theories is that Bill Gates and others planned for this virus and other ridiculous stories led to people in the UK burning down 5G cell phone towers believing that they cause coronavirus!  It is sad that we live in a world like that and that some people, for  whatever reasons, are going to make sure that by the time we do have a vaccine for Covid-19 that some people will not want to take it, because they would have been told some stories.  Lets all remember – at that time – that the stories against “it” started now - long before there was a vaccine – so people are already opposed to something that does not exist and whose ingredients or formula we do not even know!

The amount of conspiracy theories going around is ridiculous, I love reading up about most during this pandemic just to see what people are capable of coming up with. But as for me, I would get the vaccine, there are a lot more pro's than cons.

I am extremely pro-vaccine. I have numerous vaccinations myself and I find it pretty amazing how they work and how affective they are. However, while I am 100% behind vaccinations and should I have kids, they would be vaccinated religiously, there is always a risk to these things. Not necessarily autism, that was a disproven study that Lancet actually retracted. But there is always a risk of having an allergic reaction to a vaccine or experience an adverse side effect. I think that it is everyone should do their own research on the matter and make a well informed decision. It's important to understand the consequences before you make a decision and not be mindlessly swayed by external parties.

There will be a vacine soon for us to work on this problem because there is many scientists that are working to get these vacines. The stories must stop if they are not true

We will never be able to escape conspiracy theories, that is just the way the world works. People have a lot of opinions, sadly, they do not (most of the time) justify them

in today's world we will have so many options and so many conspiracy theories that when we do have something to help with the Covid-19 that most people wont even take it.

We live in a world with so many options and so many people believing what they are told to do, there are so many people who cant think for themselves

People are scared and they don't even want to take the Flu Vaccine because they think that they are being injected with Covid-19, the rumor thing is getting people killed because it is just a rumor and it spreads faster than any news which makes people think that they know better. I don't see people taking the vaccine for the covid-19 even if the was no rumor

Cornelie  said:

If there is a vaccine why not take it. This is the time to stand together as a world and not a country.

There are always so many conspiracy theories going around. They are interesting to read to see how creative people are. With the all havoc that this pandemic has caused worldwide, it seems crazy to not want to get the vaccine when it becomes available.

Mathilda  said:

So many conspiracies we can't keep up anymore.

Obviously people can have their own opinions on something but it is so irritating when these people try to force their believes on other people.

Let's see what the future has in store for us ? Maybe all the Aliens people claim they have seen will come down and say it was a prank lol.

Only time will tell whether scientists are actually correct with their present theories, and if there are any conspiracy theories that are true, or have some merit to it.

Chante  said:

There are many conspiracy theories going around, even regarding what truly cause the COVID-19 breakout but I truly hope that scientists are hard at work trying to come up with a vaccine that will truly be effective. There are plenty of people who do not believe in getting vaccines though but everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what they agree on and what they do not.

I think we live in a world that everybody have they own opinion .Scientists is not always right

Thabitha  said:

There are viruses that are made by human or from the lab, so we can not truly put our entire trust on scientists.

Bianca Niemann   said:

The conspiracy theories become more and more outrageous and it is always disappointing to see how many people just follow like sheep in stead of going to look at the research themselves and make their own conclusions. But it is true that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at least draw the conclusion yourself and allow other people to do what they feel like is right without trying to shove your opinion down their throats or destroy towers etc. just because of what you personally believe.

Angelique  said:

It is so crazy and absurd all the conspiracies one reads up on. At the same time its scary because one doesn't know what or who to believe.Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Natasha  said:

I believe in vaccines and if there is a vaccine for Covid 19 then I will definitely get it and make sure my family gets it so that they can build up an immune system against it

Sujata  said:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion regarding their health and safety. Just because a small percentage of people are against the vaccine means that it will only be a detriment to themselves. Alot more facts and research needs to be carried out in terms of the virus before the vaccine can be made available, as daily new information is released.

It's ok if your beliefs, ignorance of fleets of fancy affect only you. But when it comes to imposing this on the others lives, like not vaccinating your children, that's just criminal and hopefully one day it will become an offence not to vaccinate your children. We have science and doctors telling us to vaccinate. Is the anti-vaxxer movement for those who have nothing better to do than to temp fate and make a sign board? The irony is, most of the anti-vaxxers have themselves been vaccinated, and that's why they're still here today.

Dasanya  said:

I do agree that each person is entitled to their own opinion and to protect themselves in whichever way they deem necessary however, we are faced with a pandemic that has affected thousands of people and which could lead to death and if you weigh this up with taking a vaccine, I would opt for the vaccine.

Daniella  said:

I think we live in a world that nobody trust anybody - there are a lot of conspiracy theories going around and I guess each to their own however I personally believe that if the vaccine works its gone through the right process of testing etc everyone should consider it or else there is no getting rid of this virus.

Alexis  said:
on Friday 29-May-20 01:48 PM
People would have to use statistics in this regard. Compare the millions that were infected before and after the vaccine and then make a sound argument to say yay or nay. It is all a persons opinion in the end, and if they do not want to, then so be it, but considering how quickly this virus can spread, I feel that they should think twice about other people if they themselves do not believe in it.

Ziyanda  said:

I believe that everyone has the right to choose what is good for them and their family because one cannot change someone's beliefs.

I think its all up to the individual how they feel and what they believe. Scientists is not always right its all boils down to taking the risk and chance.

Lucretia  said:

All to his own. If anti-vaxxers don't want to be vaccinated it is their prerogative, it is when they make decisions for their children to not have vaccinations that may help is where i have a real problem. I think it should be a must until a child is of age to chose for themselves whether they want to be vaccinated or not........

Nicolene  said:

There will always be people complaining about something. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I will definitely do what is best for my family. It’s frightening to think that future generations who did not live through it may think of the vaccine as more problematic than the disease.

Melissa van Tellingen   said:

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Do what you believe in is best for you, your family and most importantly your child. Some people are just uneducated.

Courtney  said:

People have they're own opinions but I also do believe this world would be a better place if everyone spoke to truth about everything. It would make this a better place.
Vaccines is a must have in my opinion.
For some people it works, for others not.

Bronwyn  said:

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I for one do believe that getting vaccines when younger does help the body fight of a virus if you do contract it at a later stage, but I still respect the decision of the next person who believes otherwise.

Ashleigh  said:

I for one is someone that doesn't agree with vaccine's and it does go against my belief and it certainly is not from everyone's stories. I do not care what the world has to say either and I prefer to listen to my instinct rather than any one else's word.

Jessica  said:
on Thursday 28-May-20 09:11 AM
Well it is their right to decide if they do or do not want to have it. Those who don't want to have it, then don't. Those that do can do it. I also don't always listen to scientists why? Because they are always trying to prove each other wrong. One will say this is fine, the other will say not it actually isn't so who do we actually believe anyways?

Clare  said:
on Thursday 28-May-20 09:09 AM
I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions, regardless of what scientist believe is facts. I first do not agree that everything this world should to come with a new pill. I believe we should stop always believing in scientist, because its scientist created this virus in the first place.

Karien  said:

I'm sure if I was not given vaccines as a child I would've been 6 feet under long ago.

In the US the anti-vaccine activists are quite an outspoken an prominent group. I would like to see statistics on how many of their children suffer form viral infections that have available vaccines.

Nikita  said:

People will always be frightened by the unknown. I can understand how the anti-vaxxers are thinking that for centuries the human race survived without putting all of this into their bodies but they forget that we didn't have such over population issues and those people did not live as long as we do. The child mortality rate was much higher because the children did not have a fighting chance against simple things like flu and measles.
