Search engine giant Google has established a new website at www.google.org/flutrends/  which is based on their finding that certain search terms are good indicators of flu activity. Unfortunately, it is not country specific to South Africa at the moment, although it does have a number of other countries and it would show, for example, that in America the flu trend hit intense in early October and was already down to a low rating by mid-January.
