It never ceases to amaze me how many aggressive drivers there are on the roads. The kind of driver who will try and overtake a car, just as two lanes narrow to one, and create some sort of racetrack scenario on our public roads. Sadly, this normally results in death or serious injury, but seemingly, and it is young people in particular, just do not seem to realise this. You could actually make a profile as to the cars that they drive, which are always in the R100 000,00 to R180 000,00 range and the sex and age, which is typically male from about 23 to 30 years and if I was involved in insurance, I certainly would not be insuring those types of drivers!
It is probably why, when they try to sell their cars that they always claim it was driven by their grandmother! There cannot be much left of an engine, given the way some of these people drive. The problem is that aggressive driving very seldom gets punished by law enforcement, which is focused on speeding traps in certain areas or who drove through a red robot, when often the dangerous scenario is happening outside of those traps.

I am tired of drivers driving up my back then flashing their lights. I am stopped at a red robot!! Get over it!! Always taxis! Where should I go?? In a more systemic view, aggressive drivers are aggressive people so they are probably problematic in many areas of their lives and so the circle of violence begins and continues. I reeeaaalllyy hope the Gautrain and Bus rapid system are phenomenal and all taxis are taken to the scrap yard where they belong:) My Utopia!

There isn't much we can do about taxi drivers - they are there now, always has been, always will be. Aggressive drivers are everywhere! BUT - if we could get the truck drivers off the roads between 6 and 8 in the morning and during peak traffic in the afternoons it will make a tremendous difference!! Most traffic jams are the result of either trucks stuck in lanes or broken down somewhere. In Bangkok the trucks would sit alongside the highways until peak traffic has decreased and are only then allowed on freeways. Surely we can implement someting similar in SA??

I think it's pure stupidity. Who is really impressed by this? Traffic stresses everyone, but in this day and age, rather just drive properly. Let's face it, it is possible that another road user may take it to the next level and politely pull a weapon or inflict bodily harm on someone who cuts them off or tries to be spiteful. Drive like you are supposed to. Unfortunately 99.9% of the time it's completely 'innocent' parties that are somehow affected too. Traffic and Taxi's alike are here to stay, so get used to it.

i agree one hundred percent they should not be allowed to have insurance, secondly as you say where are the police in these instances to busy standing in parking lots, checking peoples license disks,or sitting in chicken licken having lunch! they should have points taken of there license's ! and its normally these kind of idiots that kill innocent people or maim children. and sorry to say but most of them either drive golfs or bmw's.me personally if i ever see one of them have an accident, i would not stop to help them!
