The buyer of a Subaru car says, in the radio ad, that as a result of buying a Japanese car, her boss gave her a promotion! It seems somewhat desperate to suggest, and not tongue-in-cheek, that if you buy a new car of a certain make, that you would be likely to get a promotion!
