If there is one development that has got my interest, in terms of discovering about its size, how many houses there will be and all of those questions, it is the Steyn City development just outside of Dainfern and Dainfern Valley, Fourways. It has a golf course which is currently being designed by Golf Data and apart from that nobody seems to know very much – other than it is a project of Douw Steyn and rumours range from the fact that it is going to have 15,000 houses, which seems improbable to me, to the fact that the golf course will allegedly be ready in 9 months’ times. Normally in the bigger developments you can find something to read about and I am hoping that this blog will lead to some suggestions and comments where I can find some information.

Douw City is a developement for the Auto and General group, all housing will be for employees of the company and not for the general public.

No secrets here guy and girls... The steyn city development is going to be situated behind the new auto and general building built in dainfern. The roads are being widened to accommodate all the extra traffic...

Heard from one of the developers there ar to "summercon"-type flats, clusters, freestanding houses ranging from sq m of 400 - 4500. This to me is quite astounding that no-one knows more on it. I would love to know how the roads will handle it & when sales are going to commence. Why the secrecy?!

The main focus at this point is the clubhouse! One thing jumps to mind and that is where there is a clubhouse there must follow a golf course! Gothic construction is building the R83 000 000 clubhouse and it must be finished next year october 2012! I am very intrested to get my hands on a copy of the actual site plans! If any body can help please let me know as I will then let you know about Pro build construction, imperial Construction, Odoko Civils, Dip Civils, Paramount construction, Arch construction and Grinikar! They all in Steyn City. Also maybe about golf data....

I will add that as per bellow rant the security were not in marked uniform, a security gaurd from the adjacent site said they had the contract, just felt if you dont mark private property or fence it off properly dont get heavy handed and confiscate keys and motorcycles when people stumble on your land...Rant off

On Sunday May the 15th 2011 at around 13hI was following the jukskei river on my road legal adventure motorcycle and ended up at the Riverside view construction site, the security company Jambo security apprehended me in an excessively aggressive manner, they took my keys and threatened to confiscate my motorcycle. The main security guy and his sidekick held me for not less than 45 minutes against my will. his sidekick said I was lucky as he wanted my bike. after much negotiating I managed to get my keys and sped away.

Only published contact number is Golf Data in CT and the Guards know nothing or are saying nothing.
Golf Data told me today development already underway.
