Gareth Cliff certainly got a lot of attention out of writing his letter to President Zuma. I thought that while he raised some good points, the letter was unnecessarily rude and a bit too personal. At the end of the day, celebrities of course like to stay in the media with the Idols final culminating, this was a wonderful time for Gareth, who is a judge on the show, to make a statement and get a lot of attention – which he has now received.

I agree with Bridgette DJ FRESH all the way.

Ok well I think Gareth Cliff is so over rated and irritating. I can't stand someone who has to have an opinion about everything (even things he doesn't know like he did with the Christians). Plus what is Gareth Cliff doing for "his" country? So who is he to talk? I think he just likes to work on peoples nerves.

DJ Fresh still, by far, the best thing to have happened to 5fm.
He simply rocks!

Gareth is very outspoken and to the point. Being Gareth Cliff and having the media to play with I don't care if he abuse the system in order to get some form of message through - however blunt he might and can be. I personally don't appreciate his attitude at times but have to admit that Gareth is very well informed and has been around - but don't beat around....

Gareth Cliff is known for his brazenness. Very opinionated and very well informed individual. He has me hating him and then the next day i'm laughing and enjoying him and his silly impersonations. I think his letter was spot on and yes perhaps too personal and a bit rude but I would not have expected anything but.... Needless to say he did not dissapoint. I think he speaks for a good portion of SA.

Gareth Cliff is known to be a bit rude and aggressive.
I personally don't like him but in my opinion he raised some good points in his letter.
The bottom line is at the end of the day politicians should deliver on their promises however, we still have a long way to go before the general population is going to vote for party policy rather than party names.

I think he addressed government the way they deserve to be addressed. Whether it was to hush him or to really hear him out that they decided to hold a meeting with him, he got to have his say.
It's about time government sees that we are not all idiots and the fact that a non-political figure broke it down for them into digestable bits the way that Gareth did, I say well done.
I mean look at Malema and his team begging Twitter Head office in San Francisco to close all his supposed accounts on the the social network claiming that it cannot be him as he "does not even know how to use Twitter". People are getting smarter and starting to smell the coffee. Better late than never.
And dont get me wrong, I am by no means a Gareth Cliff fan.
