One of the joys of having the colder weather back will be to get rid of the mosquitoes. You end up having to sleep with all your windows closed and all sorts of artificial smoky things, to try and avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes in summer. Of course, as time goes by, the threat will be more than just an irritation because Johannesburg is projected to be a malaria area by 2050, so one will have even more reason to be scared of mosquitoes then.

Surprisingly I have not had one mosquito bite me at home in the last 4 years of me living in JHB despite the fact that I live next to a marsh which you would think would be a breeding ground for mosquitos. I guess the water must be so poisoinous that not even a despicable creature like a mosquito would inhabit it! In contrast, I can certainly believe that Durban will be a malaria hot spot in the near future due to all the blood suckers that fly around there! (lots of ones walking around too!!!)

Hopefully shots will be for free so that not everyone dies. I sure hope that there's not malaria in Johannesburg imagine what chaos it will be. Not to mention yet another expense for everyone.
