Research In Motion, otherwise known as RIM, who make the BlackBerry phone, announced that they were cutting 2 000 jobs – or 10% or all its employees due to their loss of market share to Apple’s iPhone. It sounds like there are terrible problems for BlackBerry ahead and I just cannot see how they are not going to sustain even more losses in the time ahead, because their product really does not compete at all with the iPhone, apart from on price when it comes to free e-mails, etc.

I think alot of people started getting bb's and once they did our service started to go down. Extremely disapointed. However, I dont think I would ever get a different phone. Maybe a diff phone for backup. So hopefully more people get Iphones so our network and bb service wont be so overcrowded :)

It is not surprising that BlackBerry will lose more and more in the near future. Although their prices are much cheaper, their software and the product itself is really disappointing. There is always some or other problem you hear about the BlackBerry phones, with people complaining of something or other that is wrong with the handset. Whilst it is an awesome phone to have with regard to bbm and free emails etc. most would rather go for a phone with little or no problems.
