The new Facebook application for the iPad, and which has been much touted, has finally arrived. I cannot say that I find it as amazing as the views alleged, suggesting that it is even better than the Facebook website, but that is probably because to a large extent I am pretty bored by Facebook and I don’t even log into it very often. The one feature that did fascinate me turned out to not be useful to me because possibly I have not added hundreds of friends on Facebook, and possibly because people are a bit nervous about their security.
One of the tabs is marked “Nearby” and simply clicking on that allows you to see a map, in this case of South Africa, indicating where you are, and what friends of yours are in the nearby vicinity. I am sure that is a fantastic feature in a city like London or New York, but I am not sure that in a widely populated country like ours it will be as relevant, but only I was shown on my own map!

Does anyone even use FB anymore? Yawn.... Deleted my account ages ago. No loss. Inherently I am not the type of person who is interested in what other people are doing etc etc. Especially people I haven't seen in over a decade.

I completely agree with David. But the "boringness" for me only occurred at the beginning of this year . . it's like where have all the interesting people gone?

I haven't tried the new Facebook application for the iPad but some of my friends who are using it, reports that it is riddled with bugs and viruses.

I am on FB, but not as myself, as a 36 y/o male... Trying to exploit my co-worker's cheating partner.

I must admit that I am abit of a network junkie, I enjoy seeing whats happening in my friends/family lives. Facebook is a bit boring but I still log in now and then. I dont like that it constantly changed, thats what really annoys me! The applications cause confusion, havent used the iPad fb application but from what it sounds its not that great!

I,m not a fan of facebook, I've never even had an account. I find it too impersonal and I don't see why everybody should be knowing what's going on in your life by reading your facebook profile and updates. If I'd like somebody to know what's happening in my life I'll tell them face to face.

Facebook is annoying and causes such issues and unecessary drama. My account is still activated purely because I photos to keep as memories that I just havnt had time to save. Twitter and bbm :D

Since bbm, facebook has become meaningless. I find it far more personal to be able to chat to someone immediately and send photos immediately. Facebook is so last year :-)
