I am glad to see that Cedar Square is trying hard to make a shopping centre work, which probably should have, but has not succeeded so far. Firstly, and that will increase the traffic flow past the complex, the road has been widened from two lanes to three lanes, but more importantly, it previously had a bizarre entrance. You had to drive to the end of Cedar Road and then turn left into a small road and then turn left again on a road you would never have noticed before you managed to get into the shopping centre.
The centre, which has major chains like Virgin, Woolworths and used to be more famous for late night activities in the form of FTV and other popular drinking spots, has never had a parking entrance in the front of the centre and that is now being designed. I am sure, as soon as they have finished building it and work is on the go as I write this, it is going to encourage a lot more passing traffic into the centre and it is going to start doing much better than it has. Now all that needs to be done is to widen both Cedar Road and William Nicol past Dainfern and considerable backup in the overall traffic will be reduced.

I love the beautiful zen-like architectural design of Cedar Square.

I have never been to Cedar Square and from all the comments, I must definitely make a plan to go and have a look.

I love Cedar Square. The structural elements, the materials and the colours are understated!!

Cedar Square is a worthy addition to the mix!! Cedar Square is a shopping haven, whether you’re a savvy parent looking for Stork Sak nappy bags as sported by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, or whether you’re just nipping in for a quick takeaway from Global Wrapps. Happy shopping!

I think cedar square is really nice - the only downfall has to be the parking situation. I think the new and improved parking will give it more customers. Going there would be a pleasure and not so much a schlep!

Cedar Square always reminded me small European street where are a lot of different restaurants with nice food!
The time I went there I was wondering why this center is so quiet and peaceful, when the same time Forways mall is always packed and busy. Maybe all changes now and good marketing investment will change this mall!!!

When I first moved to JHB 4.5 yrs ago, Cedar Square was amazinf! The FTV was pumping as well as Cubanas. I am hoping and foresee that with the already noticeable increase in walking traffic so far, the night life there will be rejuvenated. The Piatto and Ciao Baby restaurants serve delicious food and I have been told the sushi bar is alson excellent. The VA gym is awesome and I have noticed that even the once dead coffee shop Carmella's is now always busy. Avoid the cakes!! Too good!! Too fattening!!

Wow its about time, maybe their business will be more profitable after the change. I'm sure the normal faithful shoppers cant wait for the renovations to be done already.
