A friend of mine told me about the Good Fellas service that he uses, and it really seems to have grown quite a lot. Essentially, for a monthly subscription and an additional per kilometre rate, depending on the subscription choice, you can get somebody to drive you home safely if you’ve had more than your legal limit. The legal limit is pretty low these days, so any time you had probably a sip more than two drinks, you are going to go over the legal limit and services like this are actually a good idea. They come around, with two drivers in a car, and one of them drives you and your car home, while the other follows in his car to take the driver on to the next person who they have to fetch. It is certainly the kind of service that I as an attorney involved in accident claims can recommend, rather than the alternative of trying to risk driving with alcohol in your blood and you can find the website at www.gfellas.co.za . Monthly subscriptions start at R91,00 a month.

Make sure you register with them first before making that first call as a fellow colleague of mine would be able to tell you.
Over and above the R92 monthly fee, your average trip costs about R300.

Pretty darn cool!! I haven't heard of this but I'll definitely go check it out.
There's also always a risk of safety here I think..

WOW this is really a good service, and they should actually broaden there advertisements so that it can reach more people. This will really save your life, and save you from getting stopped by police or traffic cops and getting a 5 year record on your name.

I think that's a very clever idea as a business. I don't even think 2 drinks is over the limit - even just 1 could be. It is much safer to do it that way as I would not like to be caught in a situation with our countries policemen. R91.00 is extremely reasonable and if you go out a lot its definitely worth it. But I wonder what kind of contract is signed e.g if one of their drivers bump your car etc? Very innovative!

I have heard of this company before and think that it is an absolutely awesome idea. It is better than risking an accident or going to jail.
