Auction Alliance

I really don’t try to have much to say when companies are in tremendous problems, because one never really knows what all the facts are until they are revealed in Court and both sides are heard. I can only say that I had one property that was sold on auction, and it is something that I will never do again.

My piece of land that I had was sold at a tremendous loss, by Auction Alliance, who had enquired from me as to what the minimum amount would be that I would accept – which happened to be all that it was auctioned for. I was told later that the person who bought it at the auction, immediately applied with the conveyancer to transfer it to another person and sold it for double the price they had bought it from me for!
That leaves a very sour taste in the mouth and it certainly soured me to the auction process. To now read allegations that there had been fake bidders at some auctions, that all sorts of back room deals were going on and that various kickbacks were being paid by Auction Alliance under the leadership of Rael Levitt who has subsequently resigned, hardly leaves one feeling any better. One certainly hopes that various banks named in the probe, namely Absa and Investec are going to get to the bottom of allegations that their staff pushed business in the way of Auction Alliance in return for kickbacks.

the poor starving black guy gets caught stealing a chicken at pick n pay, and gets 5 years in prison. the rich white guy robs hundreds of people, makes a deal and pays a big fine, and goes home to his mansion... just doesn't seam fair...

i don't know rael levitt, but from the happenings in the news, it's obvious that he's a crook. i love it when crooks get caught. unfortunately most of the white collar ones escape jail time, which is a great pitty. i think that if white collar criminals got jail time, less of them would be crooks.

Extremely sad and I think anywhere people in our country can make something off or create corruption they will. Its sad and really leaves one bitter - with reason! They absolutely dont care who loses money and I hope the PEOPLE responsible for this run into serious consequences. Its not fair!

For the people who work at the Auctions ist just a job they doing, eventually they dont feel any sympathy for the people involved. The end result is always leaving a bitter tast on people's lips, as long as they did what they had to do. I hope they get down to the bottom of this, and make a very good example if there was any staff from the banks that might have pushed the business to these people

i agree you dont like to see companies in trouble but,i hope this one goes down and i dont think mr levitt is the only one that is involved, i dislike auctioneers i had the misfortune of working at one for a short time, and i think they actually thrive on some peoples unfortunate circumstances as well as those that dont know how they operate

I felt very sorry for the people when I worked at RMB private bank and they would come in to see the litigation department because their million rand homes where being auctioned to the publice for next to nothing.

many people do not agree with the prices their properties are auctioned for and always find it unfair. I am not aware of how the process works. I do know many people are always unhappy.

I have to agree with Brenda – there was no thorough planning. The airline launched after only like a year’s research.
