Kony 2012 is a short 30 minute movie on You Tube, which has already been watched more than 43 million times and it is a campaign by Invisible Children. The whole purpose of this campaign is to make Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda famous, or rather infamous. He is the one who kidnaps children, gives them guns, makes them kill their parents and mutilate and kill people in Uganda.
Over the last 20 or so years, he had more than 30,000 children join his army which actually does not really fight for anything other than to keep him in power. The premise of Kony 2012 is that people have, through the Internet, a lot more power now to influence their governments and make sure, for example in America, that enough attention is focused on Joseph Kony by American experts, who have the technology to track him in the jungles of Uganda. If the Americans help, the Ugandan army may find him and bring him to justice. It is going to be very interesting to see if this campaign works and can focus enough attention on Joseph Kony to make politicians in western democracies act and assist the Ugandans in bringing him to justice. Part of the campaign for example, in America culminates on 20 April 2012 when activists and cities around America are asked to plaster posters all over the cities calling for the arrest of Joseph Kony. They have also targeted celebrities and got support from Ryan Seacrest, Oprah and a variety of other celebrities whose attention they believe will bring more focus to the campaign which hopes to work simply by making Joseph Kony famous, in a bad way, and thus focus the attention of world governments on him.

I really hope that they make a good example out of him, shame the families can be torn apart by the children

I see the Twittersphere (celebrities mainly) are going all out in the Kony Saga.
He is a sick, dimented individual whom I hope is brought to justice and soon. Such barbaric acts should no londer be taking place and it is completely appalling that one man has gotten away with so much.

Lets hope these campaigns smoke this snake out of the woods. How difficult can it be for the big guns to find him. Unless of course they have lost interest in the African continent?

I watched this YouTube "documentary" a few night ago after hearing about it on the radio. I t was heartbreaking, especially young Jacob's declaration that he would rather die than continue to lead his life in fear.
This 27 or so minute video has become one of the most successful online campaigns of all time. When I watched, it was up to 78 million YouTube views...

There are quite a few "questionable" leaders out there today. I believe they all have an ordained time for their end of reign, they will fall!

Joseph Kony is a GOOD Christian. As part of the kids' initiation, they are often required to kill their own parents so they will have no home to return to. Totally dependent. I don't know which Commandment his strategy is based on. Should they be to weak to pull through, they are killed or simply left to die. He was an altar boy (Catholic) - now he gets "strategic advice" from his eight "angels" - 3 American, 2 Sudanese, 2 Chinese and 1 Congolese. He likes dressing up in women's clothing. Joseph Kony is simply a sick man, misguided and misled by the demonic entities that visit him. This was not necessarily what I would have liked to say about him.....

I really hope this man gets what is comming to him for such bad things he has done to children. he needs to be locked up in prison for a long time because people like him cannot be in a normal society- he is sick.
I have not yet seen the youtube video , I will , however , make sure I do soon. I am sure it will be a matter of time before he is found and brought to justice.

It is very shocking that Kony has been able to get away with it for such a long period of time. He has and is taking away the childhood of so many children and made them to be cold blood killers. The innocence of the youth removed from them. I only hope that he is brought to justice sooner rather than later.

I also heard about this its hectic! but this campaign is great, I was interested seen that people were loading pics on facebook and randomly tagging people so I followed the link on youtube. It seems like they are making him famous, but its bringing him fame in a bad light and we can only but hope it gets rid of him immediately. We dont need another Mugabe!

This past weekend I watched a movie "Machine Gun Preacher". It was so awesome, showing us how Sam Childers became the hero he is today. I was crying the whole movie through, when you see how innocent children are being abducted, raped, killed made slaves its heart breaking. I am so glad that there are people like Sam Childers taking it upon themselves to fight this battle and having the help of this new campaign would do wonders for those children.

I heard about this on 94.7 the other day and this strikes me as sad and angry when I have to hear about children being kidnapped, raised to kill their parents and their people...I really hope there is going to be some results with this campaign and that Joseph Kony will be brought to justice soon.
