The Lorax

As a big Dr Seuss fan, I was really looking forward to see The Lorax. The reviews are somewhat negative saying it was a load of commercial nonsense and very disappointing and I hoped that those reviews had been given by people who perhaps don’t enjoy children’s movies.
I must say I was sad to find that they were correct, and while children will certainly enjoy it, it was one of those movies that I hoped would end soon – and not because it was a children’s movie, but because it really just was not well put together. Horton Hears a Who was very well adapted, from the book, and was a beautiful movie, which children loved and adults could relate to but The Lorax was filled with singing and all sorts of nonsense themes and while it does get across its message of saving the environment, it was a tremendous disappointment for me – but that is not the case for children.

I love children's movies. I'd pick other movies above this one but I will watch it sometime.

I will always go and see anything i want regardless of critics because, what is enjoyable to one, is not necessarily enjoyable to another. i have always made up my own mind.

I don't read that much so when i watch a movie that is based on a book, I don't really know any better. I am very cynical when it comes the types of movies I watch because i am the type of person who "judges a book by its cover" and i listen to criticism as well. Not a wise trait, but it saves time picking movies in the video store.

Although I like Dr Suess, I will probably not be watching this movie at all.

I wouldn't mind watching it just too see for myself. I think of the best animations ever made was The Lion King.

I love reading Dr Seuss to my children... it has become our bedtime routine, but I think we will be giving The Lorax a miss. They can watch it on SACB.

My girls enjoyed it alot. The story behind it is great, my girl is waiting for spring to start her own garden. The singing was a bit much for me.

I must say that from the time I have seen the shorts I have not been intrigued to watch this movie. I am glad to know it was not that good,Now I wont have to waste timing going and watching it.

I agree with Alexis books are always better, but would love to see this movie although I am not an animation fan. My fav animation is Rango and no other animation has beaten it so far.

I am a fan of Dr Seuss books too but I've heard bad reviews on this movie, ultimately I'm still going to watch it to judge for myself. Not a fan of animated movies but I want to see this one.

Books are always better. Movies never do any justice. I don't think I have ever come across a movie better than the actual book
