Airbnb listed on the Stock Exchange yesterday in a massive IPO, where they initially listed at $68 and ended the day at $144.71. It is a technology driven company that I believe is going to succeed, so I will certainly be investing in it, although not necessarily immediately – I am hoping the price will settle down a bit lower than that! I think a lot of people think that Airbnb is a company where people rent out a spare room in their house, but a lot of people have taken it much further than that and have multiple units now and run it as a full-time business. I even know one particular person who rents properties from landlords and then leases them out on Airbnb with the landlord’s permission. So, he pays a certain amount a month and then marks it up and has a manager who runs around and make sure that everything is clean and good. So many of these businesses are all based on the same premise in many ways just cutting out the middleman, although you could argue in this case that the middle man are hotels. Have any of you used Airbnb and if so, have your experiences been positive or not? Here is a fun fact – Airbnb has 4 million hosts!

I was at an Airbnb and it is perfect for holidays. You have your own space and own privacy and it is very convenient. I would recommend it to anyone.

Very interesting article about Airbnb, amazing that this company based in San Francisco, the town amazed me, when I traveled to USA.
Interesting fact as well that in 2020 the company went public with a valuation of over $100 billion, very quick rise in profits.

I never heard of Airbnb, so I decided to go read up about this company. Found t he following insteresting facts By March 2009, the site had 10,000 users and 2,500 listings. The company name started as AirBedandBreakfast.com.

I know people who use Air bnb and people who have it as a business and I have only ever heard good things about it. I think it is a very clever idea.

I read that Airbnb is expected to list on 10 December 2020, after filing for an IPO in November 2020. The company was originally expected to list much earlier in 2020, but had to put its plans on hold when bookings and revenues fell dramatically as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. It is quite amazing that Airbnb has 4 million hosts and that number may be rising very quickly.

Airbnb is the place to look if you wanting to go away, I personally would recommend Airbnb to everyone. Experiences have been positive with Airbnb.

I only ever use Air bnb and have only had good experiences. It always works out cheaper than hotels. I love being in a house or apartment. It is quite important though to use the reviews. I would definitely invest if I had extra money lying around, I can only see it getting better! I also always make sure I get reviews and noticed that the owners have reviewed me as well. So its a win win!

I have never used an Airbnb before but hear about them everywhere. It is a great opportunity for the market place though. I think that it would be inevitable that one will finally use them at some point or other.

Wow that's a very clever way for one to promote properties for potential buyers! I have travelled and stayed at an Airbnb once, in Cape Town and it was a really lovely house, we rated them as well in the hopes they would become super hosts :) !

Haven't use them yet. Will definitely in future if I book accommodation. A cousin of ours brought a unit in Jeffreys bay and is using the it as a Airbnb and she is doing so fantastically well. Fully booked all the time and extra income.

Airbnb is personally my go to platform when travelling with friends or family. I haven't been disappointed as yet. It is also a lot more reasonable when you're booking for an entire group of people. Great platform!
